I don't see vaping because you enjoy it as a bad thing especially if you can vape at 0 nic. The age of your to be grandchildren is young enough that you can teach as they grow the difference between vaping and smoking. If they grow up with a vapor that teaches them how bad smoking is and how much safer vaping is it seems natural to me that if they become interested in smoking/vaping they would choose vaping. At their current age, I wouldn't worry about questions or a complete education on vaping vs smoking because their attention span is nil. But as they get older they will be curious and probably try both. Hopefully by then vaping will be common place instead of new & unique. That's just my opinion. You have to do what's best for you and your to be grandkids will do what they want. You can only guide them.

One more thing. You said "I can say there is nothing that could possibly happen that would have me back on cigs." I thought that too at one time. I went for 10 yrs without smoking and then there were 3 crisis's that happened within months of each other and it was more stress than I could handle and I found myself back on cigarettes. You just can't know what will trigger it so like others have said, keep a couple Reos around or continue to do what you enjoy, vaping AND woodworking. The only thing keeping you from your workshop hobby is your PC. Stop window shopping and watching YouTube vids and just drop in the Reo Lounge once in awhile to let us know you are still alive. Good luck with your decision. It's a tough one.

Whatever you decide to do. Be sure to come and visit sometimes. Won't be the same here without your knowledge and presence. It's true that you do have to set an example for your grandchildren and it's best for them to be in a home that is both smoke and vapor free. That way, they won't be influenced at all.

I personally think it's great that you can go without vaping. Wish that I can do the same but, truthfully without vaping then I would be smoking right now. Hopefully I can achieve the same thing in a year or so. Anyways, I really can't comment on what you should or should not do. Only thing that I can offer you is my support for your final decision. I believe that is the best thing that anyone can do at this point.

I'm sorry to hear about that, like I said there are a few REOs I would never sell anyway. But I can assure you there is nothing that could make me even want another cig let alone actually smoke one.

My situation is probably different than most everyone else though. For one thing I only smoked for 5 years of my life from age 38-43 so even though I was surely addicted to them it may not have been as bad as most other smokers.

I also never felt the need to smoke more depending on the situation. I've been through good time and very very bad times and I always smoked the same amount. I started with friends at work and bummed a few smokes a couple of days in a row. The next week I bought my first pack and by just a few days later I was smoking exactly 1 pack per day. For five years exactly one pack per day. It was funny because it worked out to the same hour most days. If I started a new pack at 10am the next day I was opening another pack at 10am :( But my point is for me stress never caused me to smoke more or even want more. I smoked exactly the same if I was out drinking or at work or sitting home.

I never enjoyed the taste of them, I never took a big drag and thought WOW that tastes good. I did take huge lung filling drags and thought WOW that FEELS good. But judging on how fast vaping got me to quit it kind of proved to me that I was never addicted to the nicotine. I quit cigs in just 2 days after getting my first e-cig. I did send it back for a refund and got an eGo kit almost right away. There were 3 days a couple of weeks in were I had no e-cig again. I smoked a few cigs those 3 days but they were all ready terrible. I was so pleased to find something to inhale and exhale to feed my need that tasted soooo much better than tobacco.

So I can say for sure I will never smoke another cig and its a great feeling.

For now I've cut way down on my vaping and will always have some supplies around, just moving on and not making my main "hobby" now. I can do that thanks to all the great people here and the wonderful REOs that Rob makes.

Before the REO it had to be a time consuming hobby to keep trying all the latest in hopes of achieving a satisfying vape that was as easy as buying a pack of smokes.

So for Christmas I gave my best friend all of my eGo stuff for his wife. He has a Grand I gave him but his wife still prefers here eGo batts. I also gave them almost 40 cartomizers of many different brands and types. And 15 Cisco 510 attys of different ohms.

I've kept just what I know will always work for me.

REOs
HH-357 attys
Boge Cartos
5 flavors of Juice.
Buzz Pro - just because I like it.

Just giving away my other stuff cut my stash in half :) I made for a lot less clutter on my desk and its nice.

My plan to sell some REOs may never happen ??? I have sold some and traded some in the past, but the 6 I have now all have some centimental value to me. It would be hard to decide which if any to let go.

1) Black Grand from the very first run. (my first REO can't let it go)

2) Oak/Oak Woodvil from the very first run. (first wood mod can't let it go)

3) Q-sawn Oak Woodvil. (My workhorse thats only had 1 flavor in it ever) Its seasoned well and tastes the best of all.

4) Cocobolo Woodvil. (The most beautiful I have and feels the best in hand) Its a touch shorter and thinner than earlier woodvils and that makes a big difference. Don't think I can let it go.

5) Cocobolo proto-type 18490 (Gift from Rob) Nuff said there, its not going anywhere :D

6) Oak 18490 that I ordered as a block - unfinished. I've been slowly shaping (and using) it best I can with a bumm wrist. Its a work in progress and I have some plans to make it fit my tastes .... which can be odd.

Thanks everyone for the wishes and I guess my short term plan is to cut back some on the vaping. Like I said I'm not worried about the nic so I'm sticking with my 18 because I love the reckless TH :) I've tried lower and its not enjoyable anyway.

More importantly I've determined the need to cut back a bunch on knowing every single thing that happens in the vape industry and get back to putting my time to better use in the new year and years to come. Just ordered some plans for a bunk bed with built in desk for my 4yo. Its been far too long since i've made anything with my own two hands.

So I'll still be vaping some in 2012 and I'll still be around here. You can't get rid of me that easily.

Have a great day and a fantastic New Year !!!! I know I will.

Tim … you are without a doubt a core contributor on this sub-forum. Not only because of what you post, but because of what others post about you. You are obviously well loved by many, and I’m sure they would be thrilled to no end to have you as a friend that they could visit with frequently.

You truly have a knack for putting on paper what you’re thinking and how you feel about it. When you post what increases your vaping experience, I would venture to say almost everyone reading it will also try it. In my case, following your lead was my fortune. You increased my vaping pleasure immensely. Selfishly, I want you to keep doing what you’re doing because I don’t want to lose your insights, analysis, logic and the warm personal touches you put into them.

Friendships somehow seem to move in and out of our lives whether we like it or not, but the love from and for family doesn’t change. Whatever you choose to do, I’m absolutely sure it’s the right choice. Big Hitter is a Big Hit in my book.
