Ok I'm thinking of buying the Vmax. I noticed it uses stacked batteries. I've seen that it is unsafe to do this unless it was made for it. Ok well I've seen the 18350 batteries come in 700mah and 1200mah. I'm thinking the 1200 version is not ment to be stacked but I'm not sure. Also do I need the flat top batteries or not. Has anyone tried the 2cent fuze on the Vmax? Does it fit? Grimm Green had a video where he had one on his bolt. Anyway, if you have any other info or advice I would be grateful. I did see a thread on the Vmax owners but it was like 100+ pages. Thanks guys.

I'll start off by saying I'm using either AW IMR 18350 700mah batteries, or Efest IMR 18350 batteries at 800mah. Both of these battery types have nipples. The flat top batteries I started with included magnetic spacers, so I used the spacers. You want to make sure that the battery is wrapped and that it will not come in contact with the inside of the VMax tube. I personally have not used the 2cent fuze on this unit, it already sports safety features to prevent the unit firing on a direct short. I've looked at the 1200mah 18350 batteries, but in all honesty the 700mah work just fine for me. I'm a pretty heavy vaper, and they typically last me 24 to 34 hours before needing a charge. Hope this helps a bit.

The Vmax is designed for IMR high-drain batteries. The Ultrafire or Trustfire 1200mAh batteries are not even close to their claimed capacity. They're more like 600mAh. Also, they are ICR batteries (cobalt), not IMR (manganese), and not high drains, meaning that they can't stand up to a demanding current load. Do not use them in a Vmax. Instead, use only the AW 700mAh or EFest 800mAh IMR nipple-top high-drain batteries.

I noticed it uses stacked batteries. I've seen that it is unsafe to do this unless it was made for it.

In general, placing cells in series is not hazardous in and of itself. Its what you do in your circuit that causes the safefty issue. I can make an unsafe circuit with a single cell just as easily (a solid wire from + to -).

The recommended cells for the Vmax have a high discharge current rating. Using lesser rated batteries will most likely just give you poor performance. Some cells overheat internally when discharged at a high rate which could cause gas to build up and rupture the casing.

The 700mAh cells are typically the ones you want. I just bought some cheap $4 no name 800mAh cells just to test but my expectations are not too high.
