Here's what I'm concerned about--

I now smoke a pack a day of Newport 100's-- and when I tried vaping before, it just didn't work. I just didn't feel like I was smoking, I wasn't satiated, and so I just couldn't stick to it. :facepalm:This was a few years ago, and now, I'd love to try again.

I've been looking at various brands, but again-- heavy, 30 year smoker. What would be the best starter kit/accessories/ stuff I could buy, under $100.00? Help?

Thanks in advance,

Erica

Heavy smoker of 30 years?, I can tell you you dont want an Inferno.Neither the battery life or the hit it provides is going to be strong enough for you.I can say that with some authority because I smoked for 30 years at 2 packs a day myself. Get yourself a zmax and a cheap plastic tank that will hold 4mil of liquid so you dont have to constantly refill. It will be a much better match for you and buying replacement batteries will be cheaper in the long run as well.

Have you checked to see if there's a brick and mortar store close to you? Actually holding and trying stuff can really help. Other than that, I'd recommend the eGo Twist and a Vivi Nova (cheap tank system that has a bit of a learning curve, but it's pretty easy). What ever you get, don't get one that looks like a cig. The battery life will suck and you'll just end up buying something bigger within weeks.

I would pick up 2 twist, 2 mini Novas and a battery charger along with a juice of your choice. I second the advice of visiting a local store for hands on.

Picture is of a 650ma and a 900ma ego battery (twist look the same) with Mini Nova tank:

Metal colored tanks or optional.

i actually like the inferno tank kit. the size is perfect, looks sharp, great battery life, and they are both pass through. the 4ml tank is about right for an all day vape. out of all the gear i have tried and own, this is probably my favorite for all around use.

I'm seriously considering that, along with the Lava tube for serious smoker emergencies. :)

I also was looking at the one you can plug into your computer, since I am very rarely away from it. I live in WA ST-- all of the places I've seen here; the costs are twice as much as on-line. Oh, by the way-- it looks like WA State has passed a law that it's illegal to Vape in any public building. YIKES!

I'm just about convinced to go with them. They were also really, really prompt when it came to answering questions. :)

The stores here have the most outrageous prices-- (I'm in Seattle) and it just drives me crazy. A couple of years ago, I bought one, then had one given to me-- and both of them-- well-- sucked. So, now I think I'm going to look for the very best I can afford. :)

Really look around, I get wanting the best you can afford. But with the inferno, by the time you get the kit, a couple a cartos a case, you will easily have spent $100. Trust me I know first hand as my ex insisted on getting me an inferno. And for me it wasn't enough to get me off an almost 3 pack a day habit.

Now personally I dislike telling anyone to get a twist as the fanboys push it into the ground, but I would rather see you get something like that which will give you a better vape than spend $100 on something you can get other places for $40.

Here's another question then-- what do you ladies and gents think of the V2? I've heard some good things about them, the company-- and it seems to go over well with the hardcore smokers. :) That's the other brand I'm considering-- they keep getting 5 stars. The kit I'm looking at is $49.95-- for the following:

1 Automatic Battery (Any Length, Color)
1 Manual Battery (Any Length, Color)
10 V2 Flavor Cartridges
1 Smart Charger w/ cord
1 Wall Adapter
1 User Manual

I thought it would leave me enough to get some e-liquid, blank cartridges, flavor cartridges (while I learn) Drip tips.

On the other hand the standard kit is $65.95, but has all this:

The V2 Standard Kit has been updated with the V2 Smart Charger. With a sophisticated internal chip, the Smart Charger has safety features to prevent overcharging and charges your battery twice as fast! (??)

The V2 Standard Starter Kit includes:
1 V2 Automatic Battery
1 V2 Manual Battery
10 V2 Flavor Cartridges
1 Wall Adapter
1 NEW Smart Charger
1 V2 Manual
You can select up to 2 cartridge flavors in your V2 Standard Kit in your choice of strength. Our customers rave about V2 flavors and we have one that is sure to become your favorite. Our popular flavors include: V2 Red (American Tobacco), Congress (Refined Tobacco), Sahara (Turkish Tobacco), Menthol (Refreshing Mint), Peppermint (Sweet Mint), Mint Tea, Coffee, Vanilla, Chocolate and Cherry.

Arrgh! I'm so torn!

Also, being a lady-- I'd like something that isn't ....-ugly! :)

I still suggest checking out the twist, they have some lovely colors in them, as well as there is a women's room where you can get decorating ideas for on them.

I do realize V2 has a great following, and have worked great for many people, but a lot of your heavy smokers that start with a reg ego or something like the volt v2, quickly outgrow them, sometimes in less than a week or 2.

Hi there, Nancy---- do you have a suggestion as to the best vendor to buy them from? I'm going to have to get this stuff on-line. :-(

I honestly don't know who has the best price currently, I do know I have been told Alt Smoke has good prices on the twist. I have dealt with them on other things and have never had an issue with them.

Thanks, Nancy! I'll be checking them out. Tomorrow is the day, and I find I'm looking forward to it. Cigs are almost $10.00 a pack in Seattle. :-(

I also was looking at the one you can plug into your computer, since I am very rarely away from it.

If you will be vaping mainly at your computer you could get a Twist passthrough, Stainless EGO VV Battery 650mah 3v to 6v. I bought this model and am very pleased with it.

This is the Pbusardo review.

For something to take out and about you might want to consider the newly introduced Ovale emini. The battery is only 90 mAh but it comes with an attractive PCC. If you are going to be out for very long you will probably want to pick up an extra battery.

This review will give an idea of how it works.
