I've been using the ds901 and njoy npro(4081 i think). I'm considering trying a manual switch. I will most likely order from eastmall...so it will prolly be the 801 or the 501. Anyone have those with manual switches that can give me some pros and cons?
Does the manual switch prolong the life? make the hit better?

Thanks

Oh I learned to hate my 901....

My 510 OTOH is amazing. The battery life really sucks IMO, but that's to be expected, I think - with any of the smaller devices.

I think the biggest "pro" for the manual switch, is no juice in the mouth from suckin' too hard to get enough vapor before the auto cut off. There IS no cutoff, so you can take a long leisurely drag (even if it's a gentle one) and get the vapor you want. It remains pretty consistent - and then plummets as it's about to die.

I've had mine for less than a week, and I refuse to go back to auto batteries. ( Oh darn, more shopping for me)

Almost any manual switch is better than any auto switch device. The problem with the 510 in comparison to the Screwdriver, LV, Stick or Prodigy is the cost of the batteries and the life of the battery charge. $17-$20 for the 510 vs $2 and 2-3 hours instead of 6-8 hours of battery life for the SD, etc. But with any manual you should get much better throat hit, more consistent vaping and no issue with liquid gumming up the auto switch.

I did notice that most DSE901 suppliers are coming out with a manual battery for the 901 the end of this week or the beginning of next week. Ed at EastMall said they would have theirs in that time frame. This way your atty's would stay the same.

most 510 batts are 12-14 dollars, and a 510 is $25 dollars where as a SD is $160 ..........you are correct about SD's battery life but you always fail to mention availability and startup price with prodigy's, sticks and Screw Drivers

I wasn't knocking the 510. It's got to be a great device due to all the members who recommend it. I've never seen it for $25 and most suppliers seem to offer it between $50-$59. And the sites I have checked have the batteries between $17-$20 but I'm sure you can get them for less in China but then you always have the additional shipping cost. I was just pointing out the difference between the two main type of manual PV's. Both types are considered good PV's.

The problem is I hear on the 901 manual switches is they are not sealed on the batteries or the passthrough.

Could that be fixed with a little silicone or a rubber plug? As long as the metal to metal connection remains intact. There is no need for the air to flow through on a manual switch or battery.

The new ones are sealed - the switch is integrated with the battery.

The manual 801 I got from Eastmall wasn't sealed and I plugged it up myself with no problems. I just got by manual 510, I've been using a manual 801 for about a month and a 901 as well. I have to say, I prefer the 510. If seems to have much better throat hit and vapor than the 801. The 801 is nice, but for me the 510 won out. The throat hit is much better and the size is nice for me as well. I do wish the batteries lasted longer, but it's not the worst thing in the world (for me).

What is a PCC?

A PCC is a portable charging case. The PCC for the 510 will charge 2-4 batteries (one at a time) before the PCC itself needs to be recharged. (The PCC recharges through a USB connection to a computer, or, if you have it, a wall charger with a USB connection.)

It's a nifty device for going out and about with your 510. My problem is that I ride the button pretty hard for long draws, plus I'm a heavy vaper, so I tend to drain a battery faster than another can recharge.
