Just an update: I'm doing great, and the leaking was easily resolved. Turns out you just need to clean it every once in awhile. Hahaha. Thanks for everyone's welcome and advice, I really think this quit's gonna be my last one.
You can temporarily address a flooding Protank by blowing air through the tank via the mouthpiece (we call that the drip tip). Eventually you will either need a new coil or a thorough cleaning.

I haven't used my PTII in months. Such a dependable little thing... still has a special place in my heart.

Yeah, thank you! It's been working a lot better now that I spent yesterday just kind of reading as much as possible. In the end, it really seems like it's as simple or complicated as you want to make it, and I can't really decide what I want to make it. Hahaha.

What I can decide is that I am comfortably smoke-free after 4 days, and that's kind of a miracle, and definitely super nice. I think I'm pretty sold, you guys.

Welcome Thumper, and congrats on transitioning to vaping. I'm glad you got your device working, that's great. By the time you can afford a higher strength liquid, you may not need one... depending. I did find higher nicotine in my vape useful for those really "hard" moments. Juice can be as important as gear, so in the meantime, you might want to see if you can find a vape shop that will allow taste testing of their juices. Even if you don't buy some immediately, you may find that you have started out figuring what tastes good to your "palate." Having a few juices you like can really help that "attachment" to vaping moving forward.

I also would suggest a backup device once you can afford one, and as you save over time from quitting smoking, you will find that the startup costs are more manageable. Starting out, commercial juices can be great and easy to use. To maximize savings at some point you may want to look into DIY e-liquid, which is a whole other rabbit hole to jump down (I also mention it due to the FDA stating it may want to "regulate" they type of eliquid flavors and reducing choices as far as commercial juice.

But, that's not something to worry about now, it won't be happening overnight or anything. Once you get some preferences dialed in there are tons of great juice vendors at reasonable prices. I actually think starting out with commercial juices has a benefit, as often they are more highly flavored and sweetened than many DIY creations, but since you sense of taste and smell are going to be recovering from smoking, sometimes stronger tasting e-liquid can be useful.

Also, the myriad of options currently available is pretty stellar. But, since you have your setup working for you, you have plenty of time to research a second setup, etc. Lots of variety and styles of vaping to be explored.

Most of all welcome, and you, like many other vapers before you, can be successful! I did not believe it myself when I hit my first non-smoking day. It sounds like you are doing well, so congratulations and welcome!

Vaping can be as complicated or simple as you choose, and ECF is a great place to find your vaping wheelhouse. Welcome, and i wish you all the success in the world!

Hi, and welcome to ECF! You're starting out with a great tank.... the ProTank was the first bottom-feeding tank for a lot of us, so it tends to create fond memories. You are surrounded by great support! Congrats on quitting smoking! It will only get easier as you go along.
