Hi there,

well - I'm finally analog free for about 3 weeks once had the guts to buy a kayfun, some RDA's, and started building my own coils. This has totally changed the flavor, experience and deliciousness for me. Having said that, I still have a hard time finding juices I like. My first (and still only) ADV is Boba's Bounty in my KF+, but I also happen to enjoy a very few others, and evidently I'm terribly confused as to what I like.

Initially I thought I'm a straight tobacco flavor vapor, but boy was I wrong - I can't stand many (not all) of the clove, cavendish, and most of the naturally extracted tobacco flavors. Please don't get me wrong, many of these appear to be of high quality, but for some reason I don't like them, despite my continued search.......

So, I was wondering if you guys can help me determine what I'm really looking for by looking at what I apparently enjoy. I tried close to 300 different juices and the only ones I apparently like are these (all of these are 24mg nic, and if possible max VG):

1) Boba's Bounty
2) Nicoticket Radioactive
3) Alien's Gorilla juice
4) Nicoticket H1N1

Some of the ones I "almost liked" were Ahlusion's Smooth Criminal, Indigo Vapor's Duke, GLV's El Kamino, and too many others to mention.

So what is it that I really like, is it tobacco, tobacco with vanilla, banana or something completely different??? I'm desperately trying to define my taste palette in order to have more juices in my rotation, but as you can see I haven't been very successful at it.

I'm sure my taste buds are just waking up now that my last analog was 3 weeks ago, but until I'm ready to go for custards, fruits (which I have unsuccessfully tried previously) based on what's on my list above, what would you recommend I should get/try?

Thanks for all your help in advance,
Pete

I like most of what you like, the one's I tried that is. I feel the same about Indigo's Duke and a few other flavors so I'm currently steeping them. Have you tried that with any of the ones you "almost like"? Also have to you tried any fruit flavors? I'm just as pick on those as I am tobaccos but I accidentily discovered that I like some like Vape Potion's The Meltdown, and I'm currently waiting for my order of NT Apricot Ambition to compare it to since I'm such a big NT fan! I also like Chapter XII Hemingway, a strawberry and bavarian creme/creme brulee flavor, excellent! Vape Craving's Pleasure is an excellent Strawberry Banana, but I detect just a faint hint of cinnamon almost, lol that may or may not be there but whatever it is, it works! 100 Grand by Gemini, which is supposed to be like Cinnamon Toast Crunch but too me is just an excellent mildly sweet cream and cinnamon that I like to always keep in my rotation!

I dunno, there's a few gems I've found by signing up for services like Zamplebox, Craft Vapery, and the Drip Club by filling out a flavor profile when I signed up. I've discovered lots that I like buy trying different things that I never thought I would but some of the more obvious ones like grape, anise, licorice, I know no matter what I'm NOT going to like lol! Good luck finding more flavors you enjoy!

Congrats on 3 weeks smoke free!

I would say you currently enjoy complex sweet tobacco's.

w/o expanding your flavor profile to something other than tobacco...I don't have much to recommend, I pretty much called it good on tobacco w/Radioactive and the Virus. Nicoticket did just release a new coffee/tobacco- Wakonda ... mine is still steeping so I don't have an opinion yet, but people with well steeped bottles are giving it rave reviews.

Other strong flavors like bakery cinnamon, candy cinnamon, anise (503 has several anise flavors I enjoy)?

Maybe keep re-trying what you already have as your taste buds come back?

Best wishes

Pete, excellent awareness...

seems to me that you don't want overly sweet... but you do want somewhere between a touch of sweetness and "medium" sweetness...

here are a few to consider:

little havanna by next level vapers: Little Havana by Next Level Vapors at Elevated Vaping – Elevated Vaping - Electronic Cigarettes and Vaping High Quality Eliquid
smoked custard by nick's blissful brews...
vanilla tobacco shake from nhaler (octane)
GJ4 from good ejuice: http://www.goodejuice.com/store/gj4-tobacco-ejuice-p-512.html

one of my new favs is "pencil" from must vapes - but thats sort of bakery etc...

I would have likely suggested those juices that you mentioned that didn't make your cut... I imagine it was the sweetness?

I've not tried a single flavor you've mentioned so take what I say with a grain of salt for sure. I've noticed that the nic strength def impacts taste somewhat. I also dont know how you cant but 24mg into a kf. I'm a wuss I know. Anyways my point being if you are not stretched on cash maybe try ordering boba's bounty in 18 or even 12 strength just to see the difference. I would also not load that up on a work day but on a day off when you can vape more to make up the difference. There have only been 3 liquids I some what liked with tobacco influences: havana banana by nicvapes, caramel tobacco by a local B&M and a honeydew tobacco made by myself. I also seem to remember rip tripper has a liquid line thats got a few tobaccos. With as much as he talks about flavor I'd give it a shot.

There are 2 juices I still buy since starting DIY over 2 years ago. One is a tobacco mix, Dueling Banjos from High Desert Vapes

https://highdesertvapes.com/products/Dueling-Banjos-e%2dliquid.html

It's a mix of several tobaccos and depending on the time of day, etc I get the flavor of pancakes with maple syrup, pecan pie, tobacco and other notes. It's a chameleon juice which never fails to please.

He is running a 50% off sale through the end of the month too

50% Off all eliquids with code: FIFTYOFF
10% Off all DIY products with code: DIY

Good through June 30, 2014

You raise a good point. It's very hard for me to find many flavors I like at 24mg. The nic really mutes the flavors in almost all liquids. Try 18 or 12, see how it makes you feel. When I first started vaping I thought I had to have the highest nic in all my juices or I'd run right back to smoking. That just wasn't the case. As soon as I dropped down to 12mg I really started enjoying my juices. I'd say try dropping the nic, you can always keep some 24mg around.

Thanks for all your help and suggestions guys, I really appreciate it. I'll try some of your suggestions and while I want to keep an open mind to any type of juice, especially while my taste buds are still recovering, I'm pretty set on 24 mg nic level for now. I actually started vaping on 12 mg and it didn't do much for me and I kept smoking. It really wasn't until a forum member here pointed out that I needed more nic and I was able to cut back on analogs drastically.

Now that I'm completely stinky free for 3 weeks I'm just trying to find more good juices. I'm glad to hear the you guys think that I favor a complex sweet/tobacco style juice right now. I've tried some bakery, fruits and drink juices but while I didn't find them terrible, I just never went back to them. Unfortunately that is also the reason I haven't tried any of the various monthly juice subscription services yet as I'm afraid my flavor profile won't match what many of them currently offer, but maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks again,
Pete

Might give these a try:

DNA Vapor - El Jefe - acidic, slightly sweet cigar. The acidity really mellows with age.
Darkest Day Vapor - Shai Hulud - I don't taste what is described, but it's a really good vape and not too tobacco-y or sweet
Ripe Vape - VCT - Vanilla Custard Tobacco. In that order. Really amazing in a Kayfun.

Halo Tribeca is one you may want to try. it is supposed to be a tobacco flavor but is very hard to describe the taste. it is one of my ADV`s.

This. I can no longer justify spending so much since I diy but I get it as a treat every now and again and vape the whole bottle up.

I tried Tribeca as one of my very first vapes, and although it should be right up my taste bud alley, I didn't really care for it.

Interestingly I just found a 6 month old Copperhead bottle from Mister E Liquid and I'm liking it - what's wrong with me, stuff that I previously hated now tastes good.......I guess the taste buds do recover ;-)

It almost looks like I like vanilla custard tobacco flavors, wow I would have never thought that's me, but if it keeps me of the stinkies and my Kayfun happy I'm all for it.

I think I'm going to try the Ripe Vape - VCT and Darkest Day Vapor - Shai Hulud next, sounds just like my newly discovered favorite taste. What do you guys think about Suicide Bunny's Mother's Milk? Does that sound like it should fit my flavor profile?

Cheers,
Pete

One thing often overlooked when discussing juice is the amount of flavor. All the juices you mentioned are HEAVY on flavor.

I'd recommend trying HHV Shadowfax or Gandalf if you like Bobas and GJ. Same strong flavor, same heavy mouth feel of quality vg juice. HHV had to change the names but Im sure you can email them or ask in their forums and someone will gladly tell you the new names for them.

Good luck and hope that helps.

Forgot to mention, if you like fruit juices at all, give Goodlife Vapor a try. You and I like some of the same juices so our tastes might be similar. Their Yoplay Parlay is to die for! Especially if you like Strawberries and Yogurt.....yes authentic strong yogurt flavor, with a touch of granola.

IMO this juice should be in every vapers toolbox if for nothing else than the unique taste not found anywhere else.

Maybe you're looking for the wrong thing? I mean you only have a handful of tobacco juices you like and pretty much any vaper will like the occasional tobacco juice no matter what their typical flavor profile is. Maybe you're just not a tobacco vaper? That happens to A LOT of us. I thought I'd be, but as it turns out I highly prefer very acidic tasting juices like typically acidic fruit flavors (oranges, dragon fruit, peach, but not apple. All apple flavors I've ever tried made my throat numb idk), or sweet and nutty flavors.

My advice is to try a more wide variety of juices. Also, try dropping your nic a bit when you can stand to. Very high nic content will alter the flavor of your juice. I vaped 18 mg for a while, and a 24 mg juice now? All I can taste is the nicotine (and nicotine does not taste very good to most people).
