This is what worked for me

Hello Everyone.

Just joined today and this is my first post. Been visiting the site for several weeks and received tons of valuable information. Would like to return the favor now and hopefully help other new visitors by sharing what worked for me.

Was a 30 year one and half PAD smoker who had been wanting to quit for some time. Had tried the patch and tried cutting back but cigarettes were all I would think about all day. Thanks to ECF I have now been analog free for 10 weeks.:):) Have even helped my brother and 3 friends begin the conversion to vapor. They are still smoking a few analogs but are happy with their progress and are counting the ones they didn't smoke. I began by reading hundreds of threads on ECF which also led me to watch several youtube reviews by PBursardo and GGreen. Learned there was a new brick and mortar store in Evansville, IN (60 miles for me) known as the Vapor Bank. If you live anywhere near Evansville I would highly recommend visiting these guys. They are very helpful and have everything you need to get started. Me and my wife had an overnight trip planned to Evansville in mid September so I decided I would make that my start date. I ordered 2 four bottle sample packs from HHV about a week before the trip. Also ordered a Provari V2 the same day even though I had no experience at vaping. The guys at Vapor Bank got a kick out of this. Guess I felt the financial commitment would give me more willpower. Everything I ordered came in the same day we left for Evansville. Our first stop was Vapor Bank. They had a few other customers in the store so they were waiting on all of us while I decided what else I needed. The other customers were experienced vapors and were answering questions and sharing their opinions. They were also vaping inside the store since they had their equipment with them. After 30 minutes I had to go outside and smoke. It turns out that was my last analog!!!

I went with 2 Ego C Twist batteries and 3 Vivi Nova tanks. They filled one tank with Boba's Bounty and one with Cool Menthol at my request. I filled my remaining tank with HHV Caramel Capuccino. I had not made a plan to quit all at once but the rest of the day I hit all 3 tanks playing around with different voltages and enjoying the combination of flavors. The next morning I hit all 3 pretty hard first thing in the morning and found myself not craving a real cig. By the third day I felt I had already quit (which I didn't think was possible) and this gave me tremendous willpower. Continuing to read ECF was also a big help. Did have to go back to Vapor Bank by mid week to get 24mg juice. The sample packs were only 12mg and I had purchased 18mg earlier. I do have the advantage of working in an office setting so it is easy for me to carry 3 units. I still hit my ADV 3 or 4 times then finish with a draw or two on the other flavors. If possible, I think keeping your nic level up is a key. Some of my friends tend to wait until they are ready for a cig before they hit their vape. For me staying out in front of the nic urge seemed to keep me from even thinking about a real cig. I don't think about them at all now.

I believe you are sooooo right when you say to keep the nic level up. That is what I believe is what is keeping me from smoking.

Sounds like you did everything right for yourself!! Congrats and welcome to ECF. :)

Agreed. I stepped down to 1.8% for about a week and felt like crap because of it. I ended up placing a large order of 2.4% and feel so much better.

i agree with you about the nic level. it is the right thing to start higher than you aim. and slowly lower the nic level. if you do it to quickly you will feel the erg for nic. it is a good thing to keep with you a stronger nic juice for such times so you can put a few drops of it in your regular vape and reduce the craving. the longer you vape the less you will need it
