The connector has center posts floating in a silicone gasket. They can be "off" (pushed-in) and thus not connect properly. Usual symptom is for it to work on one device and not another. We're talking fraction of a mm here.

Try using a bent paper clip to pry the center posts up on both the atty/carto and the battery GENTLY.

The best thing I've found is a jumbo paper clip with the tiniest right angle bend you can make at the end with needle nose pliers. Stick it halfway down into the hole and get the tip bound enough to allow you to apply some outward force. You might have to rotate it 180 degrees and go back and forth on each side to get it out enough. You only need it to be exposed about the thickness of a thin piece of carboard. Half a millimeter is a gracious plenty. It will adjust itself when you re-install it and put pressure on the end. Too much force when screwing on a carto will eventually push it flush and cause a short as the outer ring on the atty contacts the inner contact on the battery. On an eGo, that will give you 3 flashes when you try to vape (short indication).

Don't go all the way into the hole or you might contact the coil connections and ruin the carto.
