Nice!
I'm a simple Ninja but I've read a book or two as well.
Musashi advocated two long swords because he was a very tall man and could wield them quite easily.
His size gave him an advantage, as the average Japanese man was smaller than him.
He advocated training with two katanas, to prepare oneself for the different aspects of battle which he addresses in the books.
He was a legendary Samurai, and beat a man in a dual with a wooded oar whittled into a sword, while hungover.
He was also a drunk.
Kung fu ( Chinese) is a mistranslation of Gong fu, which means an area of study.
The west associated it with a martial art in.
Confucius was actually named Gong qui.
The connection between Confucius and Kung fu is sketchy, and though possible, I never bought into, tho herbalists similar to the western ear.
They are from two very different political and philosophical schools.
Interesting. I will give more consideration. What to me makes sense
may not to all. Wu shu I believe it is, Chinese yes, to me seems much
likened to Taoism in its basic elements. This is where a lot gets to
be very buried in clouds, clouds brah!
It all seems blending together. Probably from a lot of drunken sword
guys and tea room flower arrangers, sitting by the lanterns and
waxing on about butterflies.
Had access to a set of katana briefly. They were borrowed
from a friend who was Khmer ( Cambodian ). He also lent
me a few various other tools for a while. Never asked how
or why he got his grubby paws on them. His sister fed me
good noodles and rice dishes. Only with him present though.
I possibly still butcher counting to five in Khmer ... mo, mi, pei,
pyme, bo. Yes, more consideration and thank you for the further
knowledge.
