Coming up on 7 years here after smoking about 2 PAD for over 36 years.

Yep, I quit smoking without really intending to in December of 2013, so I'm at 5-1/2 years now.
All the big changes came in the first six months, since then, they've been minor.
I plan to keep vaping indefinitely. I'm not at all confident that I wouldn't revert to smoking without it.

It's been about ten years since I first experimented with the first rudimentary e-cigarettes. It's been nearly seven years since I've smoked a cigarette. What's changed is that the technology keeps improving to provide a more satisfying experience with better flavor, but public opinion keeps decreasing. I've drastically cut down my recreational spending and have more cash with which to do useful things. I plan to keep vaping for the foreseeable future, and possess the means to do regardless of what bans may come.

I had quit vaping for a year - not on purpose, but my mum passed and I got a horrid bronchitis and couldn't handle doing anything besides laying in bed, lol. But I recently started again because I missed reading books (I always smoked (and later vaped) when I read, and found I could no longer enjoy a book without my vape). So I'm back to all day vaping and I was just wondering if I was an idiot for starting again... but I really am enjoying myself more now I'm a vaper again, lol !!
I got my first DSE901 kit in Feb. 2009, hoping it would help me cut down if not switch. It worked better than I imagined. Had my last cigarette about 2 weeks later and that was mainly just to compare with the 901. My first mod was a Puresmoker Prodigy (anybody remember those?). I skipped the Ego craze entirely and just went from stick batteries straight to mods.
The only thing that really changed for me is I don't stink anymore and my house and car don't reek. No ashtrays to empty either.
I will probably continue vaping indefinitely barring some consequence as yet unknown. Like Rossum, I'm not sure I wouldn't return to smoking without it. Like many here I have stockpiled nic and hardware for any foreseeable future.

Interesting about the stockpile - is it expected that we suddenly won't be able to get vape supplies in the future (sorry, I've been out of things for a while since my mum passed). Is there rumbling in the news??

I quit smoking in Dec '09 with a 510 kit because I just forgot to smoke one day. Things that changed? Well, I smell better and my walls don't discolor anymore! I'll likely never stop. I love my nic and could never go back to cigs.
I bummed a smoke at work once in the summer of '10 due to stress. Got about 5 drags off of it and tossed it out. Tasted nasty.

The FDA regulations were delayed but not rescinded. And now it looks like the courts may speed things up again. Be prepared. I believe nicotine will be the choke point, so I learned to DIY and stockpiled plenty of nic. I could build my own mod if I had to, but I can't make nicotine.
Edit-the "regulations" will amount to a de facto ban.
March 2014 here. I have a healthy stockpile of mods, RDAs, RDTAs, wire, rayon, cotton, factory coils, flavors and a reasonable amount of nic. I'll probably snag one or two more bottles. Still have 1-1/2G VG and 3/4G PG. Not going back, not giving up vaping.

Oh Yikes - that's a scary thought. I DIY (dur to cost and to get control over what's in my liquid)… I wonder if I should start stockpiling....
How much nic do you have stock piled (you guys are making me think of doing this...) like a gallon? What is its shelf life??
I quit smoking on the very first day after getting a pair of M402 cig alike from China back in April of 2009 - so it's over 10 years for me without a single cigarette.
I don't see a reason to stop vaping and will continue for as long as I can hold my mod.
And yeah - I am stockpiled on everything, do DIY, and nicotine is in my will cause I have like 40-45 years supply of it but don't expect to become a centenarian.

I'd rather not say exactly how much I've got, but it's more than a gallon.
Shelf life appears to be indefinite if it's stored properly. That means in glass bottles in a freezer.

there have been rumors since started vaping in 12.that is the main reason,i do not see myself quieting.have to much stuff to use.
I have less than a gallon but I don't use much nic. There is a calculator that tells you how much you need based on age and consumption. Someone will have a link to it.
Better to stock up and be safe. I feel certain that vaping will be very restricted in the near future.

8 years here, much as changed (industry, not personal) except the fact that I'm still not smoking.

It’ll be 6 years in September for me. I have no interest in stopping. In fact, I have enough nic to theoretically last until I’m in my 90s.
What’s changed? Well, plenty. But most importantly I’m able to survive on my pension, by not spending $200-300 a month on cigarettes, and I can even afford a vape indulgence frequently.
