Thought I had it figured out.

So after trying out a few disposables and such I finally ordered rechargeable batteries. I ended up going with Cig2O. So as I was getting a little low on the cartomizers that I already ordered with the starter kit, I decided to order some more. After looking around on the internet, I saw a person reply to a post and said she had a cig2o battery and talked with the company and they said it was a 510 battery. They ordered new cartomizers from vapow.com and they loved them. So i ordered some and get them in the mail today.
Here is the problem. The cartomizers and my battery are both male ends. I have seen adapters but I don't know if they will make the vape weaker. It was already hard convincing my husband to use e-cigs, I don't want to make them worse for him. Would it be easier to just order 510 battery, since I have just seen somewhere else that cig2o is a 901 battery, or just get an adapter?

Thanks :)

Hi Shinrya, First welcome to the ECF. Second I believe the cig2O batteries are in fact kr808d-1 threading. Here is a similar thread with some explanation http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/370666-cig2o-kr808d-1-right.html and here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/175452-cartomizer-compatibility.html and http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/168626-newbie-questions-about-cig2o.html For reference these all seem to confirm these are Kr808d-1 batteries.

You could replace the batteries with a 510 device OR(my preference) would be to get yourself an 808 to510 adaptor like this 808 to 510 adapter [gotvapes-808to510-adapter] - $3.99 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more and pick which cartomizer suits your tastes. This will allow you to try many different options that are available. Just be sure that your cartomizers are rated at 2.5Ω or higher to prevent issues with your battery being over worked. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

No the cartomizer has an atomizer built in. The big thing with cartos is you must keep the fiberfill inside wet. There is a coil inside of it and if the fiberfill gets burnt by a hot coil you cannot get that taste out and the carto must be thrown out. That is the benefit of tanks. 808 batteries are what is known as stick batts. They just don't last very long and must be recharged a lot. 808/510 refers to the threading on the top of the battery. 510 is just more versatile.

I have a similar situation, but mine are 808-d2's, or e9's. Because this isn't a very popular model, its harder to find compatible stuff for it, but I did find a place that has adaptors, so after I have those I will be able to use any 510 threaded stuff...

Anyhow, in the meantime I've just been refilling the cartridges that came along in the starter kit. But I've noticed that once in a while, this causes the carts to be extremely hard to take a draw from... Like I'm straining to get a puff...

Could someone explain to me why this happens, and if there is anything I can do to prevent it?

OP, I'm so sorry for the hijacking! I'm grounded from starting my own threads, and the search function isn't getting me anywhere. This topic was the most related that I could find, so hopefully the answers I'm seeking will answer some of your musings as well!

The cartos only last for about 5 refills although some can last longer if not burnt. They are a disposable item and very expensive in the long run especially if you buy prefilled. Usually when the draw gets real tight they are either not filled or they are on their last legs. I did not use the adapters back then so not sure how that will affect it. I went strictly 510.

Unless you absolutly have to have a ciagarette style ecig, I would recommend an ego passthrough kit, especially for your husband if he is having a hard go with it as you can continue to vape while its charging through a USB connection or in a wall socket if you have the wall adapter. The Ego with a clearomizer or tank setup and the proper strength and flavor of juice will make it alot easier.. but thats just my opinion as it helped me along.
