Hi all, I have been reading the pet peeve vaping mega thread, and had some to add, but I can't post there. But here are some of my thoughts on my switch to vaping and a few pet peeves:
My DH bought me a terrible Cloud kit and I tried it and thought I couldn't quit with those, but maybe there were better ones. I found this forum, my saving grace. While educating myself, I smoked disposable blu's along with my American Spirits, and read and read and read!
Finally decided on a KGO - Brent was amazing, walked me through my first order as I was having trouble understanding all the vernacular. From the moment I got the Kgo 7 months ago I have not had a cig since. I have now graduated to a ego -c twist. I tried a clearomizer but it always either tasted like burnt plastic or I felt the draw was not as good as using a cartomizer. I have ordered a different brand of clearomizer that I am waiting on, one that is highly recommended on this board, to see if it makes a difference.
OK - so John from CT - (btw I was born there!) - I hear what you are saying about VV being the best for a newbie, but not all newbies are ok making a switch to something that looks so different than a cig. I was wiling to try it because I knew I needed the extra power in order for vaping to work for me. Secondly, what was really important to me initially was that it tasted like a cig!!! Brent recommended the TK-Tab stuff and that was amazing!
Since then I have graduated to all kinds of flavors, fruit, drinks, you name it. But I always use the TK as my "base".
I think we need to listen to what is important to the newbie - and make recommendations based on their needs. I am an open minded person and just wanted something to get me off cigs, and while I was not ready to go to some huge mod, when I looked at the KGO, and then the ego c-twist, I thought, I think I can deal with that. Other newbies may not be able to initially.
OK on to MY pet peeves: drawing juice in my mouth. Yuk.
Badly done reviews: I am a film editor IRL, and I cringe watching them. Good lord, get some freebie editing software and make it look professional so we can take you seriously!
Buying a bunch of stuff online and the next day getting an email about their uber-sale
Thank God I found this forum - I think I studied, read, without ever posting before I finally decided to get the Kgo as my first real non throwaway.
Love this forum, thank you all. I have learned a lot and still have a lot to learn, but the important thing is that I have not a cig in over 7 months!
Best,
Shy One
UPDATE: today I recieved my mini nova and wow, I really like it. I had some sort of plastic tank, not sure what brand, but it never tasted right, either it tasted like plastic burning or when it was working I didn't feel like the "draw"/throat hit/taste" was as good as my boge cartomizers.
But the mini nova is great - I like the draw, taste, throat hit....the trick so far has been finding the sweet spot on the VV. My journey continues, thank you all!
