I absolutely love my hcigar Nemesis, but I keep hearing that copper is way better than SS. Obviously, now I want one lol. The problem is, I hate the look of copper. Especially when it tarnishes. So I've been looking at the Black Copper Scorpion.

Looking at the hcigar clone, it looks like it's made from aluminum, copper, and brass. I know it'll still be an improvement over my SS Nemesis, but I don't know if it'll blow my mind lol.

So has anyone used one and if so, can you shed some light on it for me?

From a purely functional perspective the only factor that differentiates one mechanical mod from another would be voltage drop.

Honestly... I think a whole lot of fuss is made over copper, silver, gold, brass, in connection pins that isn't significantly different enough to really effect performance. In simple terms, measure your charged battery before you install it... should be about 4.1 volts. Then fire the mod and measure the output at the 510 connector.

You would most likely see maybe a variance of .01 - .03 voltage drop between a brass pin or copper pin or stainless or silver.

The power only has to flow across the pin which is about a quarter of an inch long. I seriously doubt that's enough variance to say one mod performs better than another. We're talking hundredths of a volt.

All that aside... your firing switch and how good or bad that works is a consideration... but all the rest is just looks... Looks has nothing to do with performance except for in your head...

Just received my Black Copper Stingray last week. So far, I love it. Definitely a better design than the Nemesis, in my opinion. The button takes a bit of break in, and a Nemesis locking pin tightens it up a bit compared to the stocker.

It does seem to hit a bit harder than my brass Nemesis, and quite a bit harder than my SS Nemesis. Not "OMG this is incredible" harder, but it's noticeable.

You won't regret it.

If you're looking to bling up your nemmy on the cheap, ive been pretty impressed with these 1 piece tubes in black from FT, consider um a steal at <$10.

The 1 piece design and higher conductivity of the aluminum does have a lower voltage drop than the factory SS multi-piece tubes (assuming you're running in 18500 or 18650 mode).

$9.59 3-Piece Anodized Aluminum Tubes for Nemesis - 18350&18500&18650 tubes at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I was looking at the annodized tubes. I'll probably get them eventually lol just to spice things up.

I honestly think I should have gone the route of getting new contacts first though, but I ended up ordering the Stingray. Found an HCigar clone for $45 shipped so it wasn't that bad.

I would absolutely love a red Nemmy, so I'll probably order those tubes too.

Well I almost ordered the big boy 26650. But I had two thoughts: it's not all copper and the black finish will and does come off even on the non clones. So I went with the copper hades. They are good looking. If that finish was a powder coat I might have gotten one. You like a black finish get a copper or brass mood and get it powder coated. That is a much tougher finish.
