OK, so today I picked up a new mini 18350 Lava Tube from Vaperite.
VRVV Mod
First of all I would just like to say that Todd and ermmm I think her name was Melissa at Vaperite were absolutaly great. I was able to do local pickup of my order and it was my first chance to meet them and they were just great. I have purchased their VR4 organic e-juice in the past but had never met them in person and I'm glad I had the oportunity today. Great people and a great company. If you have not checked them out I HIGHLY recommend that you do.
To be honest I had been shopping around for a VV mod for awhile. I was pretty much set on the box mod from Mad Vapes untill I stumbled across the Lava Tube. I went to the Volcano site and checked it out and liked what I saw. After further research I discovered the shorter mini and cheaper prices for the kits elsewhere. I was simply waiting for the 1st to get paid to make my purchase. Fortunately my first purchase I entended to make was a VR4 refill and while on the Vaperite site saw that they also sold the Mini Lava Tubes. I had always thought of Vaperite as a Juice supplier and would have never had thought to look there for hardware but turns out they carry quite a bit more than just juice. So... In order to one-stop shop and to save on shipping I went with the company that was close by and that I had bought from before. Glad I did now. Did I mention they were great people??
Obviously they carry the same VV LRider Lava Tube that everyone else does. I have had it for half a day so far, and it's my first Variable Volt so keeping that in mind, for whatever it's worth, I really like it! So far so good anyway. It feels good in the hand and it feels nice and solid. It appears to function as it should. Exactly how all the reviews said it would. So all in all, I believe all the positive you will read in the reviews hold true for this unit. There are a couple of so far minor negatives I have noticed. Firstly, there is a rattling noise when you shake it. I did hear this in a video review I watched but I geuss I just didn't think much of it at the time. The rattle is coming from the 3 control buttons. They work just fine and as I said I did hear about this before I bought it. It's a minor thing and I'm sure I will get used to it. Secondly, It's big. Well... Big to me. I didn't hear much about the size in the reviews and I think it's just because it's my first mod. It's definately smaller than the 18650 model and all in all it's really not that big. I am moving up to the Lava Tube from a Riva however and compared to my Riva it's a good bit bulkier. I just haven't exactly figured out how I'm going to carry this thing around all day at work. I just think it's going to be a bit much in my pocket along with keys and a phone. Aparently alot of people use flashlight holsters on their belts. I'm not sure how I feel about a pouch on my belt but I geuss I will be looking into the option now.
