Recently I discovered a new and interesting juice vendor. I was searching on google for something---I dont remember what---and I ended up on a site called Vapok, which is a retail juice supermarket. Vapok sells selected liquids by nine different vendors (deeJStuff, Halo, MisterELiquid, MountainOakVapor, vape-a-licious, and VaporJam) and/or source manufacturers (Liqua and Dekang).
I dont know how long theyve been in business, but Id never heard of VaporJam, so theyre new to me. Heres the skinny from the How We Roll page of the VaporJam web site:
No company is more passionate about the aggressive quality and strict integrity of ingredients than VaporJam. We only use pure, source-verified and certified organic flavorings in everything we make.
Most e-liquid companies make their products using imitation flavorings, which are much cheaper and easier to obtain, but for the most part, just taste bad. Or a few companies may use "natural flavorings" but most of these have been derived by the use of a heat extraction process, which totally compromises the original flavor intent. (Compare the taste of a cooked strawberry to an uncooked strawberry).
VaporJams flavoring components are obtained through a proprietary technology, using cold-processed extraction, conducted at temperatures below 118 degrees F. They are organic or wild-crafted without the use of any colorants, fillers, diluting agents or preservatives. The difference is simple: Pure and natural versus imitation and processed. One is used for quality with pride; the other for cheaply processed bulk.
VaporJams working philosophy: If it's not broke, make it better.
OK, I get it. VaporJam is an artisan juice-maker/vendor that touts going the extra mile for quality. Currently VJ offers a limited line of juices (all of which have rock music-themed names) to be expanded in the future. Well, the proof is in the pudding. How good are the juices?
Vapok is currently offering a 50% off promotion (coupon code june50off). I ordered three of the VaporJam juices, all 10ml bottles at 18mg nic. None of the juices has any appreciable scent. I dripped them into a 2.3 ohm Joye 510 atty powered by a VAMO set to 8.5 watts RMS.
Stairway to Vapin
Vapor Jams version of tobacco flavor with a whole lotta love. Props to Led Zep, obviously.
This liquids color is a pale gold transparency. The label lists only two ingredients: VG and natural flavorings, so its all-VG. Perhaps the tobacco is an NET or TA. Technically, it shouldnt be a synthetic. The tobacco flavor is pleasing but not dominant, with some spiciness---not sharp but slightly pungent. The accompanying but unspecified non-tobacco flavorings lend a soft, rounded quality to the overall flavor profile, with just a hint of sweetness. The spiciness keeps the juice from being mild, but its still an easy vape. I give it a grade of B.
One Louder
The name is a nod to the Spinal Tap mockumentary, with amps whose knobs went to 11 rather than 10, the joke being that they were supposedly one louder. LOL. The description states: Where can you go from there? How about a potent mixture of strong coffee, black walnut and whiskey? For that little extra push over the cliff
This is a dark reddish-brown transparent liquid in an unspecified base blend of PG/VG. The three flavorings are used deftly and with restraint, so that the harmony of the mix stands out over the individual flavorings. Some coffee juices taste burnt---not this one. It captures the essence of real coffee flavor. The black walnut and whiskey are administered as hints, and they complement the coffee beautifully. Overall, the juice is not sweet, but thats not a criticism. It works very well to produce a singularly unified flavor. My grade: B+.
In Halin
The reference to Van Halen is mostly whimsy, since theres nothing about the juice itself that particularly links it to the shredded guitar virtuosity of Eddie VH. Heres the description: An eruption of flavor! Chocolate dipped pear, sprinkled with black currants.
This medium-amber-colored transparent juice is also all-VG, although the reduced viscosity might imply that it's been thinned a bit with purified water. I can't tell for sure. Does it erupt with flavor? No, and thats actually a good thing. The chocolate and pear are nicely balanced, with the black currant providing a bit more intensity. Overall, though, the juice doesnt scream either chocolate or fruit. Oh, the presence of both flavors is plainly announced, but calmly. As with the other two VJ juices in this review, In Halin is pleasing rather than in-your-face. Whoever created this has a refined and sophisticated palate. Chocolate is a difficult flavor to get right in eliquids, but the dark chocolate flavor here is remarkably authentic. This is my favorite of the three reviewed here. I give it a solid A-.
These are all sophisticated juice blends that I can recommend wholeheartedly. Theyre not simple flavors, but they represent very well the art of creating impressive eliquids using all-natural and/or organic extracts/flavorings.
For the next five days, you can get a 10ml bottle of these and three other VaporJam juices (Beatle Juice, Satisfaction, and ZZ Drop) for $2.50 each from Vapok. Shipping is $5.95, which isnt cheap, but it you order enough bottles, its still a great deal. I had no trouble filling a cart with juices I wanted from the nine different vendors/sources, all at 50% off. Otherwise, the juices are $6 for a 10ml bottle purchased directly from VaporJam.
