Hello.

I have a constant problem with throat clearing (but no phlegm of any kind) and it's really bothering me.

What are the reasons for that?
1. Excess of VG in your juice (at least it was right for me. After reducing VG from 80 to 50 my cough problem was mostly solved)
2. Excess of PG in juice for those allergic to PG.
3. Some harsh flavor.
4. Not vape related problems
Is there any science explanation for that phenomenon?
No science so far
Is it harmful?
Who knows. But at least much less harmful than smoking
How to reduce it?
Play with VP/PG proportion
Change flavors
See doctor

Sometimes but mostly not. Why is that important?

Your nodes could be irritated...
Sinus drainage/post nasal drip
Allergies
Reflux
Dry and need water

Would check with doctor and rule out something that might need attention.

I get that feeling if I vape higher VG e-liquid. Seems like it coats my throat and I am constantly trying to clear it.
For a few months my adv was 50/50 and I had no throat problems. Switched to a 70/30 mix and now I have the feeling of phlegm in my throat. When I mix it again I'm going back to 50/50 or at least 60/40.

That was my issue too!
Now I'm mixing at 75/25 pg/vg. Perfect for me!

I have noticed quite a few folks have a bit of a problem with the higher VG e-liquids. I try to keep all of my mixes right at 60pg/40vg and it clears up the coated throat problem I was experiencing.

Higher PG makes me cough. Higher VG is supposed to cause more phlegm. Some juices make me cough more such as citric ones which tend to be perfumy. Have you tried different juices?

Too low a power leads to a wet vape with juice coating your mouth & throat which can cause irritation. Too high a power and the vape becomes hot & dry and can also irritate the throat. Too much vapor can also lead to throat & lung irritation and coughing.

Final thought, how long has it been off the stinkies?

Vaping dries my mouth and throat, which is why I usually drink a lot of water with it. Except when I'm driving. Then it doesn't seem to dry out as much. No scientific explanation for that as I never thought about it before.

Regardless, I will assume you took up vaping to stop smoking. Therefore I'll figure you're an ex-smoker. Any smoker/ex-smoker with a dry cough for 2 weeks or more deserves a look by their doctor. It is highly likely it's from your vaping drying your throat and irritating it a bit, but don't assume that until you have a clean bill of health.

Used to be PG was the first cause of everything.

Now with higher power and better wicking being the norm, VG seems the go to.

Water? Who drinks water?
OK, I drink about 0.5 L of coffee daily and 0.7 L of green tea (and some 0-0.75L of red wine), but it's not vaping related habit. I do not even understand all this water thing.
I drink 1 cup of coffee a day, & about 750 mls of water. Nothing else liquid wise.
But, hey, I'm different.
