Vision Spinner @ 3.3
Ahlusion Smooth Criminal 50/50 PG/VG 1.8mg
Kanger Protank 3 1.5 ohm dual BC

juice vendor recommends 1.5-1.8ohm coil on true 3.7V

What contributes to a harsher throat hit? I do have some other juices that also give me a scratchy hit.

Does the nic level contribute to Throat hit harshness? I think I might need more air or less power or a higher OhM - I speculate this as when I flicker the power on/of during the drag the throat hit is mellow and the flavor is decent.

Any advice would be helpful ESPECIALLY since this eGo set up is my street kit and I'll be ordering a bigger mod and tank in the next month or so...

Thanks in advance!

Welcome Tomas! Are you sure it's 1.8 and not 18 mg? I could understand scratchy throat hit on 18mg - your PG/VG mix is middle of the road, unless you're sensitive to either the PG or the VG....

Maybe more air? Hmmmm, sorry - I don't feel very helpful on this one, but I at least wanted to say hello :)

OK it is 18MG, and I do have a 12MG juice that is also 50/50, same juice supplier and same tank set up, same eGo and that is less harsh - so who knows? Maybe it's the nic?

Thank you all for your responses!

:) I've occasionally seen the nic referenced as percentage (which then makes your 1.8 the equivalent) If you want, mix some of the 18 with the 12 - maybe find that happy medium?

I would say nic level and amount of pg are the two major factors in scratchy throat hits..I started two years ago on 24 mg dekang juices which is what I was recommended by my local store..and dekang juices are super high pg like 80%-90% and within two weeks I was back to smoking I couldn't stand te headaches and scratchy dry throat....nowadays I vape 6mg nic in a dripper with no less than 50pg/50vg..I always suggests to beginners to start with 12mg it is the perfect starting point and always a 50/50 juice if it's not enough bump it up to 18mg but you must know the your body will adjust to the nic content you consistently use and that mg will become the most comfortable it's not wise to jump around nic levels because it throws everything off I vape 6mg now and it's a solid throat hit but before when I was vaping 12 and 18 and tried 6mg it felt like inhaling warm air not wen a tickle on the throat..make sure you don't buy cheap garbage juices because the experience between cheap and high end are vastly different start in the middle price point..take what you want from all this..2 years in I know a thing or two
