Hey everyone. It's been a while since I posted here. That's mostly because I found a setup I liked and stuck with it for over a year. Now I'm thinking of changing it up.

I have been using eGo batteries (1000 mAh PTs) with LR Mega atomizers (cylinder style) and a drip tip. The big atties allow me to drip 5 or 6 drops at a time and since I'm not a chain-vaper, this results in me getting the flavor of dripping without the constant need for, well, dripping.

I like that this setup is still fairly small and inconspicuous, but still has all-day battery life and good flavor and throat hit. I just grab the cigarette and a small bottle of liquid and go.

However, I burn through atties quickly (which is expected with LR.) I also kill batteries faster than I'd like (kill as in needing new batteries, not just needing to charge.) Lately I've noticed that it's getting harder to find the atties I like and the batteries I got recently aren't lasting as long (possibly knock-offs or just not made with LR in mind?)

So are there any new PVs out there that would fit my needs? I like throat hit (I use 12mg liquid because 6 or 0 don't have enough TH,) battery life, portability, and the strong flavor of dripping. If not, could someone recommend a reliable vendor who stocks the atties and batteries I like?

Thanks!

If you are going through batteries as often as you say, it might be most cost effective to invest in a good reliable PV (id recommend a provari mini)

For atomizers, id recommend either an HH357 from avidvaper.com which can hold a fair amount of liquid, or also empiremods makes a great 901 atomizer that works fantastically well with an empire mods drip shield and a 510/901 adapter for your 510 threaded devices

Might be time to step up to a mechanical mod, bigger and cheaper batteries and a bit higher voltage coming through. Mech mods are not that much more than an eGo batt, there is even the Vamo which is cheap VV if you wanted to try that.

As far as containers yours will still work; I prefer the clearo coil heads, others prefer cartos. It seems people get longer life out of the coil heads since you can clean and reuse.

If you find dripping works and you like LR attys. You might like bottom feeders. I started with egos, then got a vv box mod from mad vapes, then a provari. I used the provari for about 9 months. I kept thinking there has to be a easier way. So I recently bought a smartbox from smart vapes. I wanted the xl but they were sold out. I think they both still may be? But it's good flavor and vape with a avid vaper 1.5 Lr atty and drip shield. They are super cheap too. Might be worth checking into beings your geared towards dripping.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I did some research and I guess I have an itchy trigger finger because I just bought a Provari starter kit. The overwhelmingly positive reviews and seemingly indestructible nature of the thing sold me. Merry Christmas to me!

So now that I have a variable voltage PV, what should I look for in atties/cartos? To reiterate, I like the strong flavor of dripping, but it is a bit of a hassle. Is there anything out there that can offer flavor close to dripping, aside from another mod? I've never tried dual-coil cartos...what's that all about? Should I keep using LR atties?

Also, will a higher voltage add to the throat hit? The only reason I still use 12mg liquid is the throat hit. I'd love to be able to vape 0mg and still feel that tickle in my throat.

CONGRATS on the provari, im very excited for you i think you will be very pleased!

Yes, in general the higher the wattage (Wattage equals volts X volts / ohms) the higher the TH. So at 4 volts with a 1.5ohm atomizer (4x4=16/1.5=10.6 watts) you are getting a pretty high wattage. That said, TH seems to be mostly dominated by nicotine content, and higher wattages can mutate the flavor of a juice and are not recommended for certain atomizers/cartomizers. After a lot of messing around, i found that my favorite juice tastes its best at about 8 watts, so depending on the restitance of my atomizer, I adjust my voltage.

I recently stopped using an HH357 atomizer on my provari in favor of a "genesis" style atomizer, which I find produces equal if not better FLAVOR, despite being a bit trickier to get the hang of setting up (although intensely fun! at least for me). Chinese knock offs have made these atomizers very accessible to most of us in terms of price. Many sell them, such as:

DID style DIY TANK atomizer system

However, if you dont want to get into building your own wicks and coils (and watching a fair amount of youtube tutorials and reading the forums) then I wouldn't bother. However, if you are up for it, a genesis style atomizer is going to give you a tank full of dripping-style flavor without the hassle of constantly dripping.

Others have said the vision eternity rebuildable atomizer has a great "dripping mode" which allows you to throw in a fair amount of liquid (over 20 drops) and get a dripping experience. I haven't used it, so I cant comment, but PBusardo has a good review on it

(cant get the link to imbed, so go to tasteyourjuice.com or search for Pbusardo's youtube channel)

The HH357 is a fine choice in atomizer, and with your provari you can adjust the voltage to get the right effect regardless of the resistance you are using.

Have fun!

Just wanted to post a quick follow up to this. I got my Provari in the mail today. Holy cow! I love this thing. I haven't vaped this much since I got my first eGo, almost two years ago. I got one HH .357 and one ViVi Nova 3.5ml, along with the 510 cartos that came with the kit. I was worrying way too much about which atty/carto to use. Everything tastes and feels great on this thing. I have no idea why I had previously dismissed the variable voltage mods. I guess I just saw all the stuff about ohms, volts, and watts and tuned out. I was so wrong to do that. I love being able to dial in just the right setting for whatever I am using.

So far, I'm still getting used to the 357 and it's still getting used to me. This one will stay at home for a while until I figure out how much to drip at a time and how to pull on it. I've also read that they get less "spitty" after a day or two (which I'm already noticing after just a few hours.)

I'm really impressed by the ViVi Nova. Tanks have come a looooong way since I last messed with them. Does this still even count as a tank? Clearomizer? Whatever...it's great. I'd rate this as about equal or maybe a little better than my best days with the eGo mega atties, but way more convenient. The 357 has a much better taste, but as I said, I'm still adjusting to it and breaking it in. Even the plain 510 cartos taste good on the Provari.

So yeah...thanks everyone. I am a VERY happy camper right now.
