I have been using three Aspire CF VV 1200MAh batteries in rotation with three Kanger Protank 3 tanks. I bought a bag of 50 coils and this combo worked well for its year of life. Couple of the batteries do not hold a full charge anymore, I ran out of coils, and it getting worn looking. I think its time to get a new setup!

I am thinking about getting two new batteries and two new tanks. I like to have one battery charged and a full clean tank ready.

Looked up Aspire and they seem to have moved on to the sub ohm batteries. Looked up Kanger and found the Subvod Kit (the top fill design and battery with external charging port are attractive features). I like how simple my previous setup was, as my wife could handle refilling/recharging them up if needed (although she didn't like using a q-tip and cleaning the battery before putting it on the charger).

What would you suggest as options? I like to replace this stuff once per year at Christmas time (who doesn't like new shiny stuff), so expensive options might not be cost effective.

A 40 watt eLeaf iStick and a Melo 2 sub-ohm tank is very affordable.

Eleaf iStick 40W TC Temperature Control Mod

Eleaf iSmoka Eleaf Melo 2 Tank Atomizer

In my opinion, ditch the temp control coils, ignore that feature entirely, and just buy regular Melo coils. Temperature control is a bell & whistle that is completely unnecessary. Just keep your tank full. If you use a dripper, keep the cotton wet with juice.

I had the cf vv and nautilus mini kit, a natural upgrade if you prefer a built in battery without separate chargers are Eleaf Istick 30w or 40w TC, shorter than the cf vv, last twice as long, I have three and love them and the nautilus mini's.

What ohm coil do you use,1.8? I found both the 30W and 40W, what's the difference?

I've used both the 1.6 and 1.8 ohm coils and like both but prefer the 1.6 ohm seems a little smoother or some hard to define preference try both and see what you like. The istick30W is slightly smaller than the 40 in width, but harder to find since its replaced by the TC40 which can be used for Power control (watts) on Kanthal or nichrome coils or on temperature control coils like nickel. I don't vape TC nickel coils.
