Tips? (eGo-C Twist CE5)

I'm a total newb to vaping, and just ordered an Ego-C Twist CE5 1100mAh starter kit (it will be here Monday, yay!) but I feel like my head is spinning with all of the information on here. If anyone is willing, I'm looking for tips or tricks that might help me with getting the hang of this particular vaporizer, things/problems to avoid, etc. I have a few sample juices coming to try, so I know I'll have to find the right nic level, flavors, % ratio, how many batteries, and all of that to suit. In the meantime though, I'm sure there are others who have made newbie mistakes they could've avoided with help, or learned some neat stuff they wish they had known to start. Any input is appreciated, thanks!

The best advice is to get a backup to your backup.

Battery . Have 2 or 3 batteries.
Charger. Get extra charger (use with wall wart usb adaptor)
Tank . Have at a minimum 2 tanks.

Always have spare head replacement at hands.

Learn how to clean, dry burn etc. Watch youtube videos on how to "CE5 how to clean" .... Etc.

Look into getting an EVOD (most popular tank bottom feed ever). Very inexpensive, very reliable and vaps great.

It looks like the battery would cost near as much (~$20) to buy separately as it would cost to buy an extra pack (~$23). Would that be better, since I could get all 3 for about the price of a battery?

If you can get a EVOD in a starter pack, would be great. Just remember to buy some replacement coils.!

I do have a question: The ohms are the difference in warmth, right? So which would be most similar to a top coil one? Basically, a lower or higher one? They seem to come standard at 2.5 in most places.

Hi Hillary, welcome to ECF!

It sounds like you picked up a decent starter kit. Your ce5 clearomizers should work just fine, you don't "need" an evod, people just have different preferences.

I'd say grab another of those kits if you like it, sounds like a good deal, but grab several replacement atomizer heads when you do. Having backups is essential, especially when first starting.

Ohms are the amount of resistance the coil has, lower ohms will produce more heat to the coil at a set voltage.
Since you're getting a twist you'll be able to play a bit because you can adjust your voltage (power)

General rule of thumb is take your ohms and add 2 to set your voltage and adjust slowly up or down depending on what you like.
Example: your atomizer is 1.5ohm, add 2 to that, so set your voltage around 3.5 volts as a starting point.


One tip I can give is when you get your kit, take the ce5, remove the atomizer head, thoroughly wash the ce5 inside and out with warm water, dry inside with qtips, replace the head, and then fill with e-juice.
Let the juice sit and soak for a few minutes before vaping it.

Yes.
That is correct. Lower number Ohm will be warmer. With twist battery, you are able to turn up the voltage on your battery to your taste.

So it is less important.

Also, Top coil (head) design is warmer than Bottom coil design.

I usually buy 1.8 Ohm coils and start with low voltage first and adjust as needed. When you get too warm or dry burnt taste, turn it down and you are there.

With any of the top coil clearos, like the CE (various models), Vivi Novas, etc., you need to tip or twirl them periodically to keep the wicks wet. The poor widdle cwewoes have a design problem. Too little juice in the tank and the wicks dry out, too much and it floods down the middle airflow tube. When Goldilocks can get it just right, they work quite well, but sometimes they require a bit of tinkering.

I started vaping a week ago, and if you want my sincere opinion: Either throw away that CE4 clearomizer, or ship it back altogether. A battery and a charger are more expensive than the whole kit, which should give you an idea how great that CE4 is. Maybe I have a bad one, but I got very little vapor, throat hit and flavor out of it. You can't really adjust or replace worn parts either, so sooner or later you'll have to replace the clearomizer anyways. Also, 1100mAh may or may not get you through the day.

Instead of spending $20 on that thing, get yourself one of these:

The thing is called the iSmoker iGo kit and costs (at least at the cheapest price I could just find) $45. The clearomizer is a vapeonly BCC maxi, which is known to be great, and the battery is a smaller version of a Joyetech eVic easy, which is great, too. Also comes in black, if that's more your thing.

With the eGo starter kit, you'll have to buy everything again the next week like I did, and chances are that it will be a setup darn similar to the iGo. With this on the other hand, you have a state-of-the-art, not-too-big-so-you-can-carry-it-in-your-pocket battery that keeps going for the first couple of month and a nice clearomizer with rechargeable coils, too.

That's from experience I got from one week of vaping, maybe it's helpful to you.

I had two batteries and wanted a third, but found a great deal on a starter kit so for about 10 bucks more I had an extra battery, 2 tanks, an extra charger and 5 extra coils. So yeah, go for it! I have found that I can never have enough tanks because I love to have lots of different flavors on hand and that way I can switch several times a day.

I also recommend that you look into the evod tanks...easy to fill and replacing the coils (the part that heats up the liquid and houses the wick) are easy and inexpensive to replace.

If I were you, keep your original battery. As the saying goes around here, have a backup for your backu
backup for your bqckup. As you collect more stuff, you may find that you want to pass on your beginner setups to new vapers.By the way this is the starter kit I mentioned in my last post Kanger E-VOD Starter kit, Kanger EVOD clearomizer, Kanger eVod Cartomizer

I have found that Kanger batteries are very reliable, I highly recommend Kanger everything.

My advice is similar to others, and that is to get a backup. Also, don't leave any batteries in your car to where it gets really hot...that's not a good thing.
Oh, and a little baggie of Q-tips or a few paper towels is always a good idea to have around.
Other than that, watch You Tube! There are TONS of great videos out there for starting out your vaping. Just type in the search for what you are looking for, and there are plenty of reviews out there for pretty much everything you are looking for.
Lastly, if you have a vape store local to you, go in and ask questions, and have them SHOW you stuff!

Easy my friends. All you tell are a new language to the lady.
I would not think to suggest things lady will get later. Let it be like you tried and behaved according your farther needs.

Now that you already ordered your kit, best is to get spare battery , spare tank and spare heads. Now I even dont know if CE5 heads are replaceable. Consider getting CE4 replacements instead.
while waiting go to you tube there are many videos there to explain how is your set used. How to change parts how to replace heads, how to clean and dry burn used heads to provide reusing them.
Learn how voltage is adjusted. If vapor is less increase voltage a step untill you find "good for you" vapor.

Now the important point the liquids. It will be a problem for you untill you find right liquid. Also important is nicotin level. PG/VG rate. If you are all right with VG Get high nic level and if it is too much dilute it with Vegetable glycerine. (10ml liquid and 10ml 24mg/ml makes 20ml 12mg/ml)
You have to wash your clearos (tanks) every time you change liquids, some liquids are very strong and you can not avoid taste even if you wash the head and dry burn hence spare heads.

If the first kit works out, get a second like you said. If you are anything like the rest of us, you will certainly try other things down the road.

With the Twist style, just start low and dial up to find your sweet spot, it will vary depending on juice/delivery system. A trick used by some is to add 2 to ohms of the head. So a 2.4 ohm coil + 2 = 4.4 starting voltage adjust up/down from there.

Once you get your kit, if you have any problems, you know where we are.

She asked what I would've liked to know at the start, and it boils down to that CE-style clearomizers aren't that great and that you want a Karger ProTank II/Mini or vapeonly BCC Maxi/Mini for your first explorations so you have at least don't have too many troubles in that regard, and a battery upwards of 2000mAh is also something you'd want to have to vape along all day.

I did miss the "twist" part though, so that makes it somewhat better.

I am using a BCC as well - as I kept burning the strings on my CE4s and CE5s.
Hate those things - as the strings frequently needed to be replaced because of the way I vape.
My sister can use them without burning though.....
