I am a huge fan of cartomizer tanks. I use other things from time to time, I've even experimenting with RBA's. But my every day all day vape comes from carto tanks. I don't know about you guys, but I'm tired of screwing around. It seems like more often than not, I'll go through the trouble of priming and punching a carto, putting it in a tank, and filling it up only to find that the carto is garbage and tastes burn't after 10 minutes, or has flooding problems.

So I have a new system in place, and so far it's working. Keep in mind, this method will only work if you buy unpunched cartos and punch them yourself. I've been priming the carto's and using them on their own for a day. If the carto is still functioning well at the end of the day, I'll punch it and put it in a tank. It seems to be working well and saving me a lot of aggravation and wasted juice.

It can be cheaper depending on where you buy them, but I've found that it's a lot easier to find the brand and resistance rating I want if I buy unpunched cartos. Pre punched carto's are fine, but I have found that they are sold out a lot of times, and when you do find them, they only have one resistance rating available, or they only come with one hole punch, etc...

Also with unpunched cartos you have to option to use them on their own if you're in a place where you don't want to use a tank. A plain carto screwed onto an ego battery looks a lot more discreet than a tank. But for the record, 95% of the time I use a tank.

I do it all the time. Just wrap some electrical tape over the hole and you're good to go.

Are you using Boge or Smoktech cartos? Are there others?

One question I think I didn't see answered: how are you priming the carto initially? How many drops are your dripping into the polyfill? With flanged XL cartos (like these) it's going to take around 40 "drops".

Priming the carto properly makes all the difference in the world.

"Replacement" cartos for tanks have a flange. Trying to fill these using the condom method could very well become an exercise in futility.

I had to use mine without a tank because the manual punching warped or deformed it enough to make it not be able to pass through my tank. It was loaded so I vaped it. Kind cute long neck big drip tip. Pssssht

Baditude's blog mentions this, it happened to me, too. I keep a bag of dead cartos. I don't throw them out. Now I use them to practice my carto punch technique. Give it a little time and a little practice and you'll have it down in no time.

I don't know what people are doing wrong when punching, but I was able to punch my carto a very getto way with no issue. I held the carto down with pliers, set a screw on top and hit it with a hammer. Works like a champ. :vapor:

LMBO!!!!! I must have over looked that youtube vid.

The inside diameter of the caps is the problem. First we saw of this problem was the DCT's from smokTech. They actually did this by design in an attempt to make folks buy their flanged predrilled cartos. (and it worked) They sold enough cartos through this marketing strategy to turn a medium sized company into one of the largest e-cig companies.

However I've been using these cartos for a while now. (same price as their un-punched cartos ... even the XL's)

I don't even know where my old saddle valve is anymore.

I got tired of waiting for my carto punch to come in the mail, and I wanted to use my new agr. What else was I suppose to do?

What is surprising is it didn't crush the carto, made a perfect hole.

Yup, its the smoktech's that I have this problem with. I have one non-smoktech tank, a valleyviewvape tank and it gives me no problems when inserting a punched carto that I punched.

I was telling my husband earlier about some tanks I want to buy. He said "how many tanks do you need" NOW I have the best answer. THANK YOU!!!! Teeheehee
