Titanium coil turned black

when the coil turned black, does it mean the coil has turned to Ti02?

setting is 25W at 240C, dual coil at 0.16, spaced coils.

I am new to the titanium coils, but I believe that is just normal coil gunk from use. The TI02 will be whitish grey. Someone made some on a coil on purpose and it looked like cigarette ash before being flicked off.

Now if its a new unused coil I am as curious as you.

It is a used coil. But when I clean it. I still can't remove the black gunk.

Do you all replace the whole coil?

Titanium wire, vaping and safety

I haven't had luck with getting it off. But I am also only have a couple titanium builds under my belt. Some have been successful in getting the gunk off.

There was once, I did less one wrap, which I got 0.1 ohm.

I fired it at 25w at 240deg C. The coil got burnt and I inhale the smoke... Ahhh... After that I checked, the coil was glowing while I fire it up...

After that I do another warp and obtained 0.15 ohm and have the same setting. It was nice and I was worried and I opened up and check, I saw black gunk and thought it was poisonous, hence I change back to kanthal.

I have had best results in the .1-.15 range. I tried a couple .2 and mine would glow. That's probably related to the build more then the resistance.

I also like to adjust the wattage and temp so that it stays just below the temp limit. Once it hits the limit vapor production seems to drop.

If you set too high, u will get black gunk!!! But if you set low, there isn't much vapor production!!!
