Hello

I bought an istick 40w, and i put there a Titanium coil, wich 0,56Ohm. I tryied a dry cotton test, and the dry cotton start browning at 180.
After that im using it with 160C. It looks good. Can i get any problem with that?
Basicly the istick 40W dont handle the Titanium but for me it looks like its working.
Seems great. My dna works best at 185C but has a slightly different ni curve then other mods so I think yours is great. How does it vape? :)

Regards
Tony

What is the general opinion on Spider Silk? It's all I have been using, so I don't know any better.

It comes fairly clean. I rub it through an Isopropyl-soaked paper towel anyway...it doe's leave a faint grey line, but, it's gone by the second pass. It cost me almost 16 bucks for 15 feet...is it worth it?

I'm really impressed with Ti, for performance and safety. Just for the heck of it, I don't do any dry-burning and just replace it every 3-5 days. By contrast, I used to have to dry-burn my kanthal every 1-2 days.

Also, it seems to need a break in period for me (about 1ml or so)...perhaps because I'm not dry-burning it first?

I've been using twisted 28 gauge titanium at 7 wrap and been working great. Ipv d2 at 40 jewel 475 deg. Anyone else use twisted titanium. Kinda a cooler vape but tons of vapor.

I just started going with twisted Ti. Claptons were getting too hot for me in tanks. I agree, works great!

Hell All! I have read the heck out this thread. I am new to TC and titanium. I just switched to a evic VTC Mini from a two year old Innokin VTR. Wow what a difference! Loving it for sure... But I have a question as I like a warm deep vape. Don't care much for big clouds just a nice amount of vapor production and warm feeling in the lungs. I currently have 28g Ti from Unk wrapped 11.5/12 times for a ohm reading .64. Not bad but I am running it 530F and 20 watts to get that warm feeling.... Pointers? Suggestions? Too hot? Amy advice is appreciated!

I think depending on device but if you have a titanium setting I am running it at 420 deg. Just rewrapped with 6 wrap and now it's .25 at 400 deg 30 watts very nice vape.

Well I am getting a nice vape now at the setting I stated above I was just worried my temp was too high.... If no one thinks my temp is extremely high for titanium I am good with it as is.

I got some 26 ga Spider Silk Ti wire, When I use my drill to straighten the wire...the wire then turns from shiny to grey in color. I then used a cotton ball soaked in ISP alcohol, but got no residue from the wire.

So, my question is...is the grayish color an indication that I'm creating a health issue if I use the wire for coils?

I've been using twisted 26ga Ni on 30ga Kanthal and really like that. I was going to do the same with the Ti wire, but the grayish color has me concerned.

Everytime I have straightened my titanium even with cleaning after it always has a funny taste. That has been with unkamen and some from fasttech. Twisted without straightening doesn't have the funny taste.

Maybe you should clean it before straighten it. When you straighten it then clean it I dont think you are cleaning it good enough from the twisting of the drill. I use unkamen and has no taste at all.

Normal metals are made up of millions of tiny crystals. If the metals are distorted / deformed the individual crystals distort slightly different depending on their individual orientation. Since the distortion of each individual crystal (grain) is non uniform the surface of the overall structure becomes slightly more rough. The more the metal is distorted the more roughness appears. Straightening the wire causes a lot of distortion of the grains. The grey color is a result of light not being reflected uniformly from the rough surface. This is normal and has absolutely nothing to do with the safety of the wire for vaping. Relax and enjoy.
