Someone please clarify something for me? Is the smok BOLT a "mechanical" mod or is it not? I can't figure it out. I see the vendors talking about it having a "mechanical button"...but that doesn't necessarily mean it's really mechanical. I see on some of the Alibaba descriptions a reference to "Patent PCB". Now...if it's fully mechanical...what is with the PCB???? Can anyone definitively clarify this for me? It BOLT a fully mechanical mod, or does it just have a mechanical switch? TIA!!!!

The bolt is a mechanical mod i got one to try use it with a nova @ 2.4 and lice it a lot.I got the extender tube and run the 18650 battery in it and it last all day.It is a nice simple mod the feels good in the hand.

Thank you madmach....I'm looking at getting one, but was confused about the reference to "PCB" (printed circuit board) on the Alibaba site. (I wasn't going to order from there...just trying to get information). I like mechanical mods...and will getting a FULLY mechanical one shortly. I also have a telescope (which is my main vape nowadays) and while it's "mechanical" I understand there is a "safety wire" at the 510 connection. Considering the Bolt as another back up. But would prefer no chips, wires, or circuit boards, if possible. Something that will not break or wear out. Got to be ready for the Zombie Apocolypse! hahahaha!!!! :D

It is not mechanical. Period. Mechanical means no wires, which mostly means no buttons other than bottom-mounted buttons or plunger buttons, with the exception of the style that's on the GGTS and the like……which are essentially just bottom-mounted-type buttons with a fulcrum to change the direction you press in to actuate it.

I agree...I have a Bolt and it is not a mechanical mod. It is a near bullet proof mod tho, that switch should last a long time. A true mechanical will have no wire, the button will normally lift or push the battery into contact with the connector. One slightly different mechanical is the Chameleon which uses a sliding ring to make the contact so the GGs are not the only mechanicals that work "outside the box".

I see that as more of a displaced plunger, but I agree with your point.

I've been thinking of getting this one for the Apocolypse:

LavaFire Mechanical Mod

there is NO circuit board in the bolt. It is mechanical in that the switch only services a mechanical function to connect the pos batt connection to the pos atty connection the same way a Silver Bullet is mechanical. Not Fully mechanical like a Puresmoke Legacy or Smok's Telescope in that there are wires, but only 2.
