To buy a whole new system or not? End of my tether.

Greetings,

I have been vaping with a Joytech evic that someone gave me about a year ago and I have always had bad, dry hits, plus I think I am having a PG reaction: vaper's tongue (unhealing cut, have to brush 5x/day, dry, acid reflux), nausea, headaches, hives etc. I have tried everything to clear up the foul juice issue: lowering nicotine mg, long inhales, not chain-vaping, switching brands and flavours, new tanks (Aspire Nautilis/Mini), cleaning tank religiously, priming tank (helps briefly, then tongue swells/hurts worse), soaking atomizers for 30 minutes before changing, praying to The Seven). The only time I enjoyed good flavour was when I absentmindedly bought 30/70 PG/VG in a wee variety store and finally I got blasts of vibrant flavour. However, this juice also seemed to heat my battery/tank more, even though it is a temperature controlled model, and I would get spitback. Nevertheless, because of all the symptoms PG seems to be giving me I would like to switch to high VG or maybe even 100% VG juice.
Does anyone know A) why the Max VG caused my system (battery or tank?) to heat up? OR B) If my Joytech evic battery can handle Max VG, and would it be better if I use a different tank/coils? and C) Should I buy a new system altogether that will handle Max VG better? I have a great fear of my face blowing up; it's almost as distracting as the horrible hits I've been dealing with! I have a local vape shop down the block that will mix recipes, but like most vape shops it appears to be run by kids and I like to go in armed with knowledge.
If you actually have answers for me I would be extremely grateful. I have spent days reading
speculations, people responding to questions they don't have answers for. I am ready for action and tired for reading (and really tired of this mouth :)
Thanks!

Temp control mode should only be used with the appropriate coil wire material. Ni, Ti, SS.

For your symptoms best to go see a doctor for diagnosis & treatment.

You need to prime a new head not the tank, head = coil & wicking material in a replaceable single unit.
Drip drops on the wicking material until fully saturated, then install in base, fill tank, take a few un powered primer puffs, always start off at a low power setting to prevent scorching / burning the wicking material. Slowly increase power setting over the first half tank or so until you find the vape quality you like. If you get a slightly burnt, harsh, hot, off, odd or funky taste turn the power down.

Thick / high VG e liquids can be thinned with a drop or two of distilled water if necessary to aide in wicking ability.

The liquid you use should not have an effect on heat build up, have you thoroughly cleaned the 510 connections on both the power & delivery device lately?

What power levels are you using?
What nic mg/ml are you using?
Besides the nautilus what other delivery devices / tanks do you use?
Have you experimented with the airflow setting?

#1 get checked by a Doctor.
#2 temp Control only works on Nickel, Stainless Steel, and Titanium
#3. The battery shouldnt have heated up more than usual unless you.
a. Tried to vape Kanthal in TC
b. You were stressing battery witg too low resistance
#4. I recommend buying components and putting them together instead of buying a kit.

No company does everything great. Most times part of a kit is great and part of it is AWFUL.

Eleaf makes great mods but yoy canf run fast enough to give me an eleaf Atty.
Wismec mskes good attys tge mods on the other hand STINKS.

I got the Presa dead in 6 months, never dropped and my Atty didn't leak.

Eleaf had two Pico's, istick60tc. Been great. The istick40tc was very good till i sold it.

There was issues with the istick50. My Lemo2 leaked from fill port like a sieve. Looked at tgsthe Lemo Drop at a vape shop. The current couldn't get to tge freaking coil even tried it on 8 differerent mods

Council of Vapor. Don't recommend ANYTHING they make.

I got the Mini Volt kit. Two months DEAD would not charge. 5 puffs in two minutes tge drip tip was so darn hot it burned my lips.

The eVic VTC Mini is a great mod. I have two of them.

I would suggest you retire the battery and insert a good battery by Sony, LG, or Samsung.

Then switch to a high VG Juice. Then get an Atty that wicks well.

I think for a first system, the eVic is a little over the top and maybe too many variables involved for someone inexperienced with vaping. I'd suggest "dumbing it down" and getting a beginner mod to give a try. There are several mods that come to mind, but most big time manufacturers Joyetech, Aspire, Eleaf, Innokin etc etc, feature beginner kits from which you could choose. Your local brick and mortar vape shop could also give you a hand with that.

I do think the Innokin T18 is an excellent starter, as is an iStick Basic. Those are the only two starters I personally have experience with. Also, anything with a Nautilus tank and 1.8 ohm coil head is good. Start out about 9 watts. Well, that's the sweet spot for me anyway.

Thanks Two Bears,

I have already tried/am doing most of the other suggestions such as using a Nautilus tank/1.8 bvc coils, priming, pulls, cleaning, etc, etc. and I appreciate them all, but I had not changed the battery. I will try that. This is not my first vape; it's my fourth, and I didn't buy the kit (when I say system, I don't mean kit). I put it together with help of the shop owners and a friend using the same evic vt (his works fine). So, I will change it, change the juice and see a doc about this tongue before I resort to swishing with vodka ;) I really like it and it was costly, so I'd like to save it if I can.
BTW, after changing coils I start at 6.5 and move up every hour by 1 watt until about 8.5/10. My tongue won't allow for any more. I am using 18 mg nicotine now, started it at 24.

Hey Hobbs, et al

That was a long time ago, but no I don't think so, definitely not the tongue issues (even with smoking). I had the pen styles before and hated the filling process, and they inevitably broke on me, so even if changing the internal battery fails I am going to stick with the box mod. I'll just get a new one, sub ohm if it works with high/max VG? The person who gave it to me had been charging it using his computer, and I have busted a cell that way, so that may be the issue. Apparently you aren't even supposed to use a standard cell charger either, only a USB converter because it requires low voltage charging (though the Joytech site states charging by computer is ok, others say rapid-charging is not).
I just read about another guy who was using PG/VG juice and had tongue issues like mine and he, like me, has medical health issues; he has chron's (sp), I have c.difficile complications resulting in the same effects. He was also recommended to get off the PG.
Is it unsafe to use VG at higher nicotine levels? I notice that many places online only seem to offer it up to 6 or 12 mg, but when I have tried it I had it first at 24 mg (with a lot of backspitting/overheating) and at now at 18 mg (no backspitting or overheating). I am happy to go to the safest level. My local makes to order.
Thanks so much :)

Hi Daviedog,
I am not about to start wicking my own coils. I have a joint stress condition from too much texting; even vaping is painful, so I buy Nautilus BVC atomizers (1.8) by the pack (reliable source, verified), prime them/tank, soak them etc. I use a Nautilus Aspire tank with a stainless steel sleeve that helps keep things cool (in my rainy city :).

I had a couple of the pen styles before and didn't like them at all. With all the new steps I am taking things have improved. I just want to try changing the internal battery and switching to high VG or max VG juice now, which I will do tomorrow.
