I have to start DIY to save some cash. Have been reading a lot and have most of what I need. I've just been hesitant about which flavorings to buy. There's so many! And so many good looking recipes.

Help please!

Here's what I like. Top is currently my ADV, but I like the other as well. My tastebuds don't really pick up all tastes in a juice (sweet, nutty, etc..) I just know what a like. A good strong, fairly harsh TH with some flavor, I'm just not sure what.

VS Phoenix
VS Frisco
VS Tampa
FSUSA Pall Mall
FSUSA American Spirit

If somebody can point me to some things that are close to these I can get started.

Thanks!

OH! And my wife only vapes VB coffee. Any flavors/recipes close to that?

Look anything like this k3vin?

P8130001.jpg

pizza2me , TH is usually provided by the nicotine level , ie the higher the nic level , the bigger the throat hit . But , there are some flavours / liquids that reduce or round off the TH , such as VG , Caramel and Vanilla.

K3vin, Wow! That's a LOT of info! (But, it's sort of like I'm seeing already... confusing.) I'll give it a shot starting with the Perique Black (Which I do like from VB). Burley, Cuban Supreme, and Desert Ship were at the top of my list too. Black Licorice sounds interesting too! I hate to eat it! But, a touch in a juice may be what I need. I think I like a good harsh vape, with just a little bit of sumpin in there. That may be one I'll add to it and try.

I know... Start with small batches, right? (See! I've been studying! :)

Thank you to Symphinity! Yep. That's what I've found. All the juice I vape is 30mg+ (I actually vaped 50mg unflavored once or twice. Not bad!)

But, I'm hoping, which I found with the Phoenix, that I can find the right mix to start bumping the mg down. I haven't tried a lot of straight tobaccos to compare, because the first year of my vaping life I only did menthol. Now for some reason, I can't do menthol anymore and just want tobacco. The Phoenix I may be able to do with 24mg. I'm going to try it again. But, here's a description of the juice. Maybe it will help you all give me some ideas.

"inspired by a pipe tobacco flavor we sampled at a tobacconist shop in southern England. This flavor is splendid; somewhat sweet, a little nutty, grainy, simple, a bit of spice, and light notes of toasted tobacco. Medium flavor, rich personality"

Sounds like a strong tobacco, with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. ?? But, I do want to start simple and see of just some of the straight tobacco flavors will do it for me.

Dang this is exciting!! I go through a LOT of juice!! And I can't wait to start making it at a fraction of the cost! And be able to tweak it.

Thanks all!! Still open to recipe suggestions in case I might throw something in when I order the above. (Gotta wait til payday)

Oh yeah! (again), would really like a recipe that makes juice like VB's coffee! My wife has tried a lot of different coffees and still will only use VBs.

Ok.. Done rambling. Sorry... Can you tell I'm excited? :)

NICE!
I wanna come play at your house. :p
I need to bring my bigger table in my DIY room...

What is that one the wall?

They are called Rack A Bins , basically just storage bins that mount to a pressed metal backing plate . I store my 10 and 30ml empty bottles and nipples and caps in them . Stops them cluttering up the work bench. I am about to buy another 7 foot table , as the one in the picture cannot hold any more bottles !! ( and I still have more stuff coming in !).

Now theres a new concept , an E Liquid Play Date !! You might find that its a looooong way to my place !!

OK,here is a tobacco recipe I like to vape...actually I have 2...
5ml nic base
4 drops of desert ship
1 drop of DK tab from TFA
1 drop of caramel
1 drop of Tobacco absoloute..dont forget to get some TA..

#2..
for 10ml. mix..
4% caramel/8 drops
3% burley/6 drops
catalin creme 2%/4drops

Dont let the caramel fool ya,it does some smoothing, but also adds body...the #2 is a nice spicy mellow vape...

#1 definetly has some throat kick to it,and flavor, and it is mixed at 50/50 pg/vg..

And get the cowboy flavoring..from fa,it is deep tob flavor..I would also recommend a chocolate, and please get the black licorice,I think you will be pleasantly suprised..I dislike eating it as well, but it sure perks up a mix..

An " Interesting" tobacco liquid is Camtel from Flavour Art. Has a very pronounced musk flavour , with a hint of coffee in the background. Be warned though , 1 drop in 20ml is plenty!! I just wish other liquids were as strong.Warning #2 : This flavour hangs around in cartos ( like strong cinnamon does) , so best to mark the carto if you use it . I add a drop to many different types of tobacco , it definately gives them a bit of zing ! YMMV.

Goes to show how subjective taste is... I generally mix FlavourArt tobaccos at no less than 5% and up to 12%.

The first flavor I tried was Cowboy, mixed to the manufacturer's recommendations.

At 1%: "Hay? This tastes like hay to me."
At 2%" "This bottle is mislabeled-- it's not Cowboy, it's Cowfood."
At: 4% "I think there's some tobacco flavor in this."
At: 5% "Hey, this isn't bad. I can vape this."

I agree. I've had to go over the recommended % also to get where I want most of the tobaccos and that's after a good steep too. Maybe each to their own I suppose..
