My email/message to Tom Harkin, of course the dxxche won't actually contact me, but

Dear Tom,
I watched your comments on television regarding the FDA and electronic cigarettes.
I am actually asking you to contact me personally regarding your thoughts about electronic cigarettes.

Some points I would like you to study:
1. Nicotine in itself is NOT addictive. There is NO single study that shows this.
2. eCigs are NOT being targeted to children, In fact (as shown on liquid package that you read, it says: Keep out of reach of children.
Please note that Vodka, and other alcoholic drinks also have many flavors.
Adults like flavors too Sir! I LOVE Gummy Bears, and I am 50 years old.
3. We in the ecig industry are going above and beyond safety, further in safety than MANY products like my hand sanitizer that contains 70% ethyl ALCOHOL, has NO childproof cap, NOR has warnings on the label.
VODKA, and other dangerous alcoholic drinks also have no warnings on the bottle and also do not have child proof caps.
(what about the 10 products under my kitchen sink?)

Our ecig products are filled with warnings, our web sites say adults only, our juices have childproof caps AND warnings. And our retail stores do NOT sell to minors.

I personally quit smoking 4 years ago (a pack a day for 35 years).
We repeatedly have customers giving us the same story. In fact, one of them smoked 3 packs a day for 50 years, and quit using an eCig.

The Lung Association, the Heart Association, the Cancer Society should be WANTING these devices, or at least do SERIOUS studies on these because these devices are saving lives.

Please don't let the big tobacco or the FDA control this "God sent" product.
If only these where around 30 years ago, my mother, father, uncle and brother would still be alive today.

The ejuice contains:
1. Propylene Glycoll. This is used in asthma inhalers (FDA approved)
2. Vegetable Glycerine, a food product already being consumed by all. (FDA approved)
3. Small amounts of nicotine (FDA approved)
4. Food flavorings (FDA approved)

By the way, Propylene Glycol is used in hospital air vents to reduce airborne "diseases" and kill concentrations of air-suspended pneumococci, streptococci and other bacteria.

The stories you hear about the dangers are NOT true Sir.
I again emphasize:
We do NOT market or sell to children.
Adults like flavors too.
We have safe bottles and warnings.
These products are saving peoples lives.

Dear Sir,
I again ask you to contact me (or even CALL ME) so I can provide further information about the electronic cigarette to educate you. I do NOT mean that in a demeaning way Sir.
But the fact remains that the information you have and the beliefs you have in this are entirely incorrect. This is a VERY important matter to many many people who have quit smoking using these.

Very Sincerely,
Rick
