I know Im supposed to steep a week or so but i was in a bind and tried it fresh out of the box...YUCK! How much improvement should i expect after a week?

500% and another 500% after 2 weeks. TV tobacco is the very best, it WILL taste just like a humidor smells when you go to a cigar store
this^ i dont even touch mine untill it has steeped at least 3 weeks.
I agree completely with the above two posts. I smelled something faint and awful at first. Now it smells delicious and I didn't even buy it for myself and I don't like tobacco. So, I have a very happy man who loves it and I might occasionally borrow his PV just for the tobacco flavor. 
It smells like a cigar to me....can't get used to the flavor of it...but time might make it better.
This has always been the case with TV Tobacco, either you love it, or hate it, but the plain truth is, this is a liquid that NEEDS time to mature. It's not a "straight out of the bottle" liquid. But it is one thing that DROVES of other vendors can't claim, it's 100% real tobacco, and not the clever palette trickery of a small portion of tobacco and tons of additives in an attempt to mimic tobacco.
Some rare few have liked it straight out of the bottle and loved it even more as it matured. Some allow it the time it needs to mature. And then there are those who simply can't stand it. Not everything we do will suit every person. This is why we offer such a versatile menu of hand made products.
