I haven't tried a quad stovetop yet. My mega tank can't support 4x 24 ga wires yet. I need a different rda that can but once its there I'll be posting those pics up! I'll give you my secret for doing it.

Basically what I do is use a cut nail with a HUGE head on it or a washer that fits flush on it. Then get another washer that fits flush also. Notch out washer #2 just to let the kanthal thru after you put it on the nail. Squeeze them tight as you wrap.... then PRESTO perfect ... stovetop with 0 hotspots and 0 crimping involved. ;)
so if im reading your intricate diagram/ blue print correctly i should...

8====D~~~~ ?? cause thats what im seeing....
whoops gay porn open on another tab :eek:

jk but in all seriousness ima have to read over what you said a few times cause at first glance i did not understand what you mean im slow like that

I'll try to make it out of dots. Can't look like I'm messin around at work lol.

......|.....|
---||.....|======
......|.....|

dots = blank space
stacked vertical lines = washers
single vertical line = nail head (I use sleved nails just for extra grip surface)
equals sign = area where kanthal and nail are at

Kinda ghetto but the best I can do at this moment lol

Just of of curiosity how big are the post holes on the 26650 version. Do you think 4 strands or more of 26 awg would fit into the center post ?

Thanks
That's a good point, my original tobh atty can fit 4 24ga coils in'er, however I had to crimp the twisted wire flatter so it would. So that's always a method to use.

I own the 22mm TOBH clone and i use it on my Hades. I cut/removed the tabs on my TOBH because i prefer center post builds and the tabs just really annoyed me and since i always use it wide open, All 3 holes, I figured it would be a good idea.

Just ordered one of these and plan on removing the tabs on this one also. Cannot wait! Its awesome as a 22mm dripper, I can only assume its even more badass as a 28.5mm

Like thiiiiiis?

Also for anybody that wants bigger airflow, I've found this is the perfect way, just add another 1/16th" airhole above the 3, looks good, and averages to 1/2" airflow.

Is this big atty a clone or a true Made in the US piece?

Only 2 official Tobh releases are version 1 and version 2 both in SS. The V3 is a China clone that just ramped up the size. Brass, copper, and black are also clone indicators.

Speaking of increasing airflow I am sorry I don't have a picture, but I have crowned the 3 air holes and has increased the flow of air with out boring up the size. What I mean by that is with a 1/16th air hole I then take 2 sizes larger 3/32 drill bit and drill down .2 to .4 mm to eliminate a sharp edge. Less resistance that the air has to cross.

i have been looking into building a stove top coil but i fail it everytime i have attempted over 10 times and cant get it right (using 30guage, 28, 28 twisted, and 26) i thought that stove top coil might help seeing as how rip swears by it :/ ive tried with pliers and how rip suggested on 20guage needle

I learned a trick to making them super clean looking. Make your initial right angle bend that will eventually lead to your posts, then wrap one perfect wrap around whatever gauge you want.

THEN, put the starter coil face down on your desk/flatsurface (so the right angle bend is point straight up), hold your finger on top of that starter coil tightly, and then wind the kanthal in a circle, allowing the new wraps to slip under your finger and bend around that middle coil. This way your "sandwiching" the stovetop flat between your finger and the flat desk, as your winding the wire around the previous wraps. You get what I mean?

If I didn't make any sense I can make a quick vid lol, but I can make perfect stovetops that look like metal cinnamon buns this way, and it's easy! (I never cared my for the stovetop build myself though, just for my preferences though, everyones got different tastes!)
