That I did not pick up an analog.....:)

Ive had my e-cig for about 4 weeks now yet I still had the urge for real tobacco...especially after meals.

After trying several juices and learning the proper way to get a good vape I can say I'm really getting the hang of this.

I always wondered why so many people here say that they quit analogs after just one vape?? really?? Maybe I'm wired differently

Speaking of wired, I just made my own USB passthrough but I dont have enough posts to post in the modders section yet:rolleyes:

Congratulations!!

You are not the only one. I bought some loose tobacco to keep just in case, and I find I still roll 2 or 3 cigarettes a day, especially after meals and right before bed. I find they are becoming less satisfying now. This is after almost two weeks of vaping.
By the time my small stash of tobacco runs out, I imagine I won't have the need to purchase more.
Now that you know you can go all day without an analog, you have no reason to ever go back. :)
I'm right behind you and I'm almost there.

Modding already? I'm waiting until I have some extra parts, I don't want to tear up perfectly good components quite yet.

Hey, Eric Greetings from Rockledge!

Everyone reacts differently. Some people go off analogs right away. Some folks - like you - take a little longer. And some folks always have a few smokes now and then.

As long as it's working for YOU, then it's all good.

PS - Dontcha wish there was a store here locally so we could buy our supplies and avoid the shipping hassles? If it weren't for the FDA, I'd be thinking of opening up a retail outlet around here. With this economy, storefronts are dirt cheap right now.

Yes I do! The local mall has a kiosk (which got $100 bucks out of me for their silly "green smoke product) but that's about all. I'm using a 901 now and looking to get another one for my dad.

Yes would be great to have a local shop for supplies but yeah the whole FDA thing is iffy.

Way to go Erik & Macdaddy.
Like rocketvapor said, as long as it's working for YOU. Even if you do light up every now & again, its not the end of the world.
Luckily I was one of those that was able to quit the moment my first order arrived. Sure I still had cravings for the first 2-3 weeks but they were tolerable & a few extra hits or a few drops of 36mg curbed the cravings. I no longer crave an analog like I use to. (1.5pk a day marlboro red habit) I can easily go an hour (possibly 2-3) first thing in the morning without a vape & often 2-3 hours at a time throughout the day without a vape...Although I don't cuz it's so damn good:D
I guess what I'm trying to say is that we're all different with the same nasty addiction. Give it time & the cravings eventually turn to just memories. It gets easier every day, some harder than others but it does get easier with time.

Thanks everyone...the real test for me will be tomorrow morning during my layover in ATL airport.

If anyone has ever flown through there you know what I'm talking about! :)

Inside the terminals they have these little smoking rooms where all you need to do in step inside and your engulfed with second hand smoke. Heck, all you have to do is just walk past the sliding glass doors and you can get a good hit off everyone's smoke.

Congratulations! This is my (and my wife's) first day without an analog too! You're not alone... every now and then we find ourselves wanting a "real" cigarette. This definitely has made a difference though. Without the e-cig we would have already bought our usual 2 cartons of smokes. And I know it is better than nicotine gum, because last time we tried that, my wife didn't make it 4 hours without buying smokes. For some, vaping seems to instantly take care of things, for others, it just helps. Mind you, we are using medium nicotine juice. From what I have read, you get less nic from an e-cig. We may have less cravings had we gone high strength, but we didn't want to.

Cool news on the passthrough. I just recieved two today. Loving it so far. I thought about making one too but as another said, I hate to destroy a good battery yet! :)

You can vape anywhere you want in the terminal. It is legal. Heck many members have vaped on airplanes.;)

Im not talking about vaping in the terminal in Atlanta, Im talking about the designated smoking booths they have there. Its a room about 15 x20 with benches and sliding glass doors. They even have cigarette lighters built into the walls. When you walk past it you see all the people inside like some kind of display at the museum ...lol

OH, and I did vape on a plane once :sneaky:but I did it in the bathroom and just a few quick hits. I would feel really funny about vaping on a plane. In this day and age anyone pulling out something with a LED and then producing "smoke" is likely to get everyone pretty excited real fast. People look at me funny sometimes the way I wear my headphones...They go around the back of the ear (Shure in-ear monitors) and I usually tuck the wire in my shirt. Who knows,, either they think Im Jack Bauer on a mission or a bad guy plotting something.

I think it helps if you don't try too hard to quit. :)

I'm one of the folks who got their first PV and never touched another analog. But I didn't really MEAN to quit. I was just trying to reduce my analog intake and find a more socially acceptable way to get my nic fix in public. But I got the hang of vaping pretty quick, and it was much less of a hassle than smoking (LOVE not having to go outside in August in S. Florida, lol) and within a day or two I was actually "forgetting" to take my real smoke breaks.

My mom started at the same time as me, but she was much more focused on quitting smoking, and she got obsessed with counting the hours since her last cigarette. I think that since she was constantly thinking about cigarettes, she had a much harder time giving them up than I did.

So my advice is: calm down, enjoy vaping, be proud of any progress you've made so far, and be optimistic that sooner or later, you'll reach your goals... :)
