I was thinking more along the lines of shaking up the system. A wake up call to those who take the right to vape for granted. A reminder to the government that they can only push the people they're supposed to represent so far before we push back...

As much as we like to keep things neat and tidy, sometimes things need to get ugly before change can happen.

Got it. I agree :- )

That never worked for me -- I've been a huge fan of broccoli my entire life, since I was old enough to pitch a fit in the frozen foods, demanding TREES! My mom wouldn't "cook" it, but she'd plop a Green Giant bag in hot water. :D

My biggest success in husband-training has been teaching him to appreciate broccoli -- it's all in how you cook it! :D

Lol, as a kid, I ate all my veggies without a problem, and liked most of them. I never understood kids that wouldn't eat them.

Too many people have been trained and conditioned to just sit there and take it while complaining. There is a reason I support using violence to protect our rights. But the tools make up excuses why violence is wrong, and the sheep just make noise...

I'm George Carlin's definition of a fussy eater. I will eat a salad, but do not give me mixed cooked vegetables. They have to be separate. And I will never touch green beans. They squeak when you chew them. *cringes*

I can't abide "mixed" food either -- but green beans don't squeak when they're cooked southern-style, with some bacon and new potatoes... they're soft and limp and actually not too bad -- not one of my faves though.

I can eat most vegetables except sweet potatoes in ANY form, and turnip greens -- turnips themselves, eh, I can tolerate 'em, but the greens??? EEGADS, humans were never meant to eat something that bitter!

If you put enough cheese sauce on it, anything can be made palatable, even Brussels sprouts (well, almost)...

I HATED beets as a kid, thought they tasted like dirt. Then I was served borscht at a Ukrainian restaurant, Now I can't get enough of it ... :D

I don't put cheese on broccoli, usually; I cook it until just tender (4 minutes after it comes back to a boil), with butter (margarine) and garlic powder, then add more margarine while it's draining. Yummy!

I hated beets as a kid because my mom puts WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much vinegar on them. When I finally tasted them chilled and sweet at a salad bar, I found that I actually quite enjoy them. Sometimes I might do the pickled-beets thing, but with like, a teaspoon of vinegar, not a freaking pint of it!

I love Brussel sprouts. They are just mini cabbages. Boiled with minced garlic, salt, pepper then some butter after draining... Great stuff. I even got my girlfriends daughter eating them.

The other day, my 8 years old son cut me clouding in my office... "Dad, I thought you stopped smoking" he told me. " Son, it's not smoke it's vapor" I answered. "Dad, vapor is much better than smoke" he concluded before leaving the room. What's wrong with the common sense of all these grownup?

Well, my mom is 74, and about as closed-minded as they come -- when she first *saw* my vapor, she was a bit leery -- but then, when the house did NOT fill with the vile odor of stinkweed, she was very impressed. She's even told me that she likes the "fruity" scent of my vape, because it's so light, not strong like room freshener. My aunt concurs -- and she's almost 83.

Which makes me think... We have non-smokers and non-vapers on our side. There is hope!

Well... my aunt is a never-smoker, and she is THRILLED that I finally quit, and she's smart enough to "follow the money" with all this crap in the media -- once I explained the situation to her, she got it immediately, and she is fully onboard.

My mom... she's an ex-smoker, and I've always felt that she's a bit jealous that my quit was so much easier than her own. And she's very gullible about The News; I've explained and explained to her, but she still gives me grief about all the "we just don't know" crap; recently I printed out that excellent "Litmus test" blog post -- The American Lung Association: Reducing Tobacco. The Litmus Test & Ulterior Motives | Vaping Links And More -- and took it to her to read at her leisure, so maybe she'll finally start to see what we're up against.

I hear your Mom... I am also somehow jealous of smart folks who started vaping when I was still heating my head against the walls, chewing nico gums and desperate to quit for about 10 years. Great job in educating your folks on this matter. I am not quite sure that I have full understanding of what we're up against just yet. Certainly, you're links will be resourceful.

I am still thinking... So we are gaining supports from cross generations, the wisest like your Mom and Aunt and the smartest like my son. The matter is so plain and obvious with such a broad media coverage that I am tempted to call it the "Vaping Revolution" if anyone did it before. Further than been a way out of the deadly smokes, this phenomena may lead to reveal the true nature of our health related businesses, institutions and groups like never been done before...

Most of the news stories I find are about local units of governments increasing restrictions on cigarettes AND ecigs. I've come to the conclusion that the purpose of this is to reduce incentives to switch from cigs to ecigs. One of the best places to switch is work. I work on a shop floor with 30' ceilings. The boss allows vaping. In the past year 1/3 of the smokers have switched to take advantage of the more permissive rule. Government would like to interfere with that to keep people smoking.

My husband works in a plant where raw cardboard is cut and printed to make boxes -- obviously, the dust in there is off the charts, similar to a paper or cotton mill, and very obviously, absolutely VERBOTEN! to smoke in there, because all that dust is a wildfire just waiting for a spark -- but they don't have the slightest problem with vaping, in the office or the plant.

Living here in Minnesota between the towns of Liberal Lakes and Diversityville one of
the greatest shocks I experienced here on ECF was that there other states in this
country that allowed you to smoke indoors.

Heh... and I used to live in a small town that takes the smoking ban rather lightly and haphazardly; my asthma doc is in that town, and the last time I visited him, I stopped at a convenience store on the way home to grab a cold drink -- and when I walked into that store, O.M.G!!! It was like walking INTO an ashtray! I practically held my breath till I could pay and get outta there! My eyes were burning!
