i was at the supermarket today doing some shopping for christmas while the wife was paying as the queue was long i took the kids to the dvd music section and thought i would have a quick stealth puff.I was seen by a shop worker she came straight over and said what was that sir i said its a pv she then walked off, she reappeared about 5 seconds later and said i have just asked someone and they said you can't do that here i replied ok and off she went.I can't believe she said this no way she asked anybody just thought to herself i am not having that and said i can't do it. I should have had a smart answer but with all the rushing around just agreed with her. I shall now prepare and answer just incase this happens again i was not near food or anything and some of the people in the shop looked like they were health hazards coughing and sneezing everywhere just a few meters away people were smoking at the door and was blowing in with the wind!

Seems you were not quick enough, or else not stealthy enough.

So hm...out of curiosity did you blow any vapor with that stealth vape? Just curious cuz when I stealth I make sure nothing comes out. If nothing comes out I can't imagine what any person could say against it that would be justified. I mean, what exactly is it they believe you "can't" do if you're not blowing any cloud? You can't inhale? You can't have your PV out? You can't put it to your mouth? Seems like anything but blowing vapor into the air falls under the category of - mind your own effen business.

I mean, don't get me wrong. I respect the idea of no vaping where it's specifically noted. But if no vapor comes out I just don't' see why anyone would be justified in approaching someone else about what they imagine they are doing.

I can understand being upset and all, we all went through this when we were smoking, but as much as we all would love to come back with "blank off" we should not add bad attitude for the anti everything people to get up in arms. Unfortunately most people are ignorant to "all things different" so your aggression would only give them fuel.

Be apologetic and informative, and remember that "technically" these are tobacco products...... I know, I know, relax..... I said "technically" so they fall in the same rules and laws as if you had a cigarette in your hands. If you had been a sweet little older lady puffing on it, that would have been taken a whole different way. People would assume its a medical devise , etc........ and even if the little old lady said that it was an E-cig they would have been supportive and said things like : GOod for you, congrats. Some of us look like average people (LOL, normal? Me") , some of us are sporting cool hair styles , tatoos etc. So all these affect how Vapors are precieved.

Any way, unless you are approached in an aggressive or rude way, even then remember we are all ambassadors to Vaping and need to try and represent vaping as a safe, healthier alternative, not something else for them to feel frightened of.

And you expected what?

No, I'm not an apologist by any means (do an Iffy 'search')! Just be aware of your situational environment and know your 'enemies'.

At times you must vape smarter, not harder...

Next time tell them its your inhaler and go about your business.

If a fellow customer tells me what I can and can't do they can go screw themselves. If a manager/owner does I'll question why and plead my case. If they still say no, fine. It's their establishment so their rules. Some random nobody tho is exactly that. A nobody.

It's for my lung disorder. The propelyn glycol in the vapor soaks up moisture from my lung tissue, helping to keep me from coughing up a lung every ten minutes, like a smoker. My doctor advised me that without it I might develop emphysema. I try to keep it discreet because people who aren't familiar with this sort of equipment tend to equate it with smoking...

You handled it perfectly.

I should have had a smart answer

Why?

just agreed with her.

As you should have.

I shall now prepare and answer just incase this happens again

Again, why?

i was not near food or anything

Irrelevant.

some of the people in the shop looked like they were health hazards coughing and sneezing everywhere

Then you should fight for a policy that prevents the sick from being on public property.

just a few meters away people were smoking at the door and was blowing in with the wind!

Then you should fight for a policy that enacts/enforces a certain distance from public property for this activity.

A representative of a company has every right to tell you you can't vape there (for any reason they choose).

Unfortunately the kids were with you, otherwise "....... off" would have been a good first response.

Attitudes like this are why we are being legislated.

Some random nobody tho is exactly that. A nobody.

A nobody that votes, most likely.

Here is an idea...

STOP VAPING IN PLACES WHERE SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED AND ACTING LIKE IT IS YOUR RIGHT TO DO SO!!!

This is a perfect example of why we get a bad name.

Sorry... JMHO.

This is one of the reasons I started vaping in the first place - When I drink, I like to have a smoke. Now I only go to bars where they don't mind. I do ask first, though. Those that would rather I not - that's fine, I give them no grief and politely thank them for letting me know. Then, I also don't give them any more money either.
