I've been sampling liquid from everywhere I can get it for months. I've been getting capsaicin burning from a few of suppliers lately. Quit it! (note: I'm not naming names, but the worst offenders are from the far east (so may affect resellers, please sample your stuff))

And yes, I do know what nicotine "burn" feels like. Not it.

They really need to test all this liquid because they are very inconsistant which leads me to believe that no one is monitoring whats going on. Every batch of liquid should be just like the last one. This stuff does have the potential to be dangerous.

I have noticed 2 things latelyl

1) I can use the same atomizer with the same cart and the same liquid but on my passthrough and it makes my throat burn like (and this is the only way I can relate it because on analogs I smoke ultralights) smokes a camel no-filter with a monster case of strep throat but put it on my screwdriver and not as much burn.

2)the only liquid that is smooth with no burn even with the screwdriver is johnson creek.

is this just me or am I doing something wrong??

The experts will be along shortly, but I can give you my opinion.

I think the passthrough causes the atomizer to operate at a higher temperature. But, I don't think it's the heat itself that causes the burning sensation, as much as what it does to the sugars, etc in the juice.

As far as JC, I notice the same thing. Doesn't seem to "burn" as readily. Also smells kinda oily. Love it. Just makes me wonder a bit.

(Wow, I think I just went off topic on my own thread!)

BTW I have NOT noticed this new penchant for pepper in JC juice. I have, however, noticed it will bust out of bluejeans from time to time ;-)

i think capsaicin is the same ingredient in like Icy-Hot. Its that ingredient that get super super hott!!!! I think its like a pepper derivative or something like that ... still not sure how they even get that stuff to work.

don't take that as Bible truth ... simply jogging something from memory (from many moons ago)

O, and Jaaxx, if you are talking my juice, please let me know. I haven't noticed anything personally (and yes, I do sample bottles from each batch) but ya never know!

oh yeah. we have s similar product called deep heat over here. outdoor sports players sometimes rub it on their skin before a game if its cold. didn't know it was in any e-liquid...that's kind of worrying if it is.

edit: so its derived from chill peppers hmm.

I'll be watching this thread. I am in the midst of my first bottle of ejuice and have been experiencing sores in my mouth. I'm not sure if it's normal. My first one was behind my bottom lip. It cleared up after 2 days or so, and now I have a second one inside my left cheek. It feels raw and bumpy. I am not prone to these sorts of sores so I'm thinking this may be a possible explanation.

No Cash, haven't noticed anything strange with your juice. Good as usual.

Capsaicin is the ingredient in peppers which causes the burn. It is, in itself, flavorless. Just causes the burning sensation. It is commercially available in a pure form. Most of the "insane" type novelty hot sauces use it to boost the heat. It is also used in "pepper spray!"

It can and does have a use as an ingredient in e-liquid, but I have noticed some liquid showing up with what I consider more than usual amounts lately.

If you've cut down/stopped anologues it leaves certain people more prone to a condition known as RAU, which results in periodic ulcers in the mouth.

I have solved the burning, at least with kick liquid. I mix it 80/20 with vegetable glycerin. That makes is much smoother and seems to give a lot more vapor also. It also seems to have solved a couple of other issues, though they were small compared to the burn in my throat. I seem to be topping of the carts less frequently and i don't seem to get liquid in my mouth through the cart like before. I don't know why it works but, at least for me it does. It even takes away the burn using the passthrough. And before figuring this out I had been using only the screwdriver because it seemed that no matter what liquid I used it burned with the passthrough.

I see this answer often and I have to disagree.

I had quit for ahwile on the patch and never had the sores, but when I started esmoking I got them.

So I think it is the residual nicotine.

If you are vaping a PG based juice, it can be an allergic reaction, as reported by some members. Try VG.
