You could, but that will increase the resistance. Typically you want the coils to be responsive and heat up quickly. Once it is wicked and primed w/ juice the coil will not get as hot and glow as the juice and the air being drawn through it will keep it much cooler than simply 'dry firing' it. If you are making coils then you should be testing the coil to see just what resistance it is. Lower ohm coils will produce more vapor, but if it is too low it could cause problems with your battery either not firing, if it is protected, or going into a 'meltdown' if you are using a mechanical device.

Yeah I'm getting great clouds but have to drop every 2-3 hits.
What gauge wire are you using? What ohms are you trying to get? What are you wrapping on?
Stingray mod with 24 gauge wire

Depending on the resistance of your coil and how long your draws are that is normal. For me running 0.4ohms (dual coil 28ga) taking 4-5 second draws, I have to drip every 3-5 puffs depending.
True. Love the clouds but don't like the dripping so much... What is a good tank that takes hits like a rda? Don't they have tank like rda's that feed juice? And ones that can be turned upside down and anyway without leaking?

There is the 3-d RDA by Atmomixani which has a small juice tank beneath the coil that can be depressed and then floods the wick with juice.

Would def look at genesis style tanks which would prob be the closest thing to an RDA with a tank. They have there quirks and def a learning curve, but the perform much like an RDA w/o dripping.

Kayfuns are also great, but they are a bottom coil system. I prefer those as I get more flavor from them but I do not get quite as much vapor as from my RDA or gennie.
