I'd agree with @Ben85 not just for the velocity but for any RDA. It boils down to personal preference though. If you are enjoying the vape you're getting from the setup you have with that much cotton then that's what really matters. I know it's too much cotton for my tastes though
Is this okay for my RDA or too thick cotton for your standards?

Even though I made the cotton very thick, there is so much more flavor that I'm getting right now because of the setup. I like it a lot better than the way it was before. I'm just not sure if the bottom tails will wick up from what's in the juice well and keep the coils saturated when I drip into the middle. It seems like it's doing that but with the velocity the coil is built very high and there are long ropes of cotton reaching the bottom. If the cotton is thick will the juice still be drawn up from the bottom of the wick, up to the coil the same way like if I were to be using thinner wicks, keeping the coils saturated?

It should work better for drawing the juice up from the bottom of the wick. Less cotton at the bottom for the wick up top to "compete" with. Give it a good try for a day or so and see how you like it. Later I'll show a pic of the build and wick on my avocado24 RDTA with the wick barely touching the top of the tank part.

Okay. I'd like to see that. So basically when one takes a puff the drawn to the coil, aside from when you drip and the cotton getting saturated from what's in the well?
