Ok, so I'm new to this vaping adventure. I've read everything I could on this forum from the Dom's bible to the other Dom's bible. :p I believe I have a pretty good idea on what I want to buy as my first PV (510). I will probably purchase a starter kit and a few extras, but I have a few questions before I pull the trigger.

First one- Where is the best place/ price/ shipping to buy the starter kit?

Second one- Can I purchase a 510 with the mega batteries or do they have to be purchased separately?

Third one- cartomizer? Worth it for a newbie? I'm kind of looking for the most bang for my buck. I don't want to do the vape-fill-vape-fill cycle as I spend alot of time in the car for work. And where should I get those from and maybe a suggest amount to get started.

And probably not my last question but will do for now as I let my brain contract from information overload.

PCC- Worth it or a waste of money? I would say I'm 50/50 when it comes to direct access to a power source.

I guess you could say I'm looking for suggestions to get the most out of my 510. I'm not opposed to fill carts, it's just that I don't always have the time being on the road alot. Same goes for batteries.

Thanks for the suggestions and ideas. Man I can't wait to light the fuse on this baby and ditch the analogs.

The dual Joye eGo from PureSmoker.com is the way to go. As for a PCC or direct power device, I find it unnecessary with the eGo. A single charged battery lasts me all day of constant vaping, and I always carry a spare. I find that I don't need to switch out to the spare until the evening hours.

In regards to the vape - fill - vape - fill comment...

Couple of choices... I bought 80 regular carts (I know probably to many but whtever)

I tend to fill up several when I'm going somewhere and stick them in an empty altoids case. Not too hard to pull a new one out pop it in. Also I mark each one with the flavor part of the reason I wanted so man carts.

Now I've just ordered 5 Low Res Cartomizers and 5 Regular Cartomizers for my eGo.

They are supposto hold about 10 ml of liquid, that's alot of smoking power, the problem with them is they apparently cannot be cleaned, so eventually they will die.

I have not been able to find a positive answer about how long they will last, thus why I bought 5 of each figured 16 bucks eh lets see what happens. So Cartomizers might be the way to go for you, if you don't mind the higher cost, or you could go with filling carts like I do... Oh yeah the cartomizers I purchased I ordered from cloudsofvapor.com

Hope that helps

Back the truck up...
Do you mean that a pack of 5 cartomizers can hold 10ML?
That may be close to true with the new MEGA cartomziers.

But the standard 510 Cartomizers only hold about 1ML of liquid.

But anyway, yes I believe the Cartos are worth it.
Especially if you drive alot.
You get better vapor when dripping directly, or using Cartridges.
But it is much more frequent maintenance which is a pain when driving.
With a cartos, you can usually go a few or several hours between switching or refilling them.

You can fill up 3 or 4 of them either in the morning before work, or in the evening before bed.
And they should last you all day.

Plus another vote for the Ego.
I got the Riva which is the same thing, just under a different name.
I couldn't be happier with it.

I was a big fan of cartomizers, but after using lr atty's it's tough to go back. They do offer lr carto's now, But I have not tried them. Now I just use cartos on a 5V passthrough and they work as good as lr attys.

lr atty's simulate high voltage vaping. Allows you to make clouds of vapor with short puffs like you are used to on a real cig. With normal atty's and cartos you draw slow and long to get good vapor.

I always bought my cartos from litecigusa they have soft tops and hard tops, I happen to prefer the hard tops.

I'm currently using a Riva (as I type this) which is the same thing as an eGo with a 510/kr808 adapter and kr808 cartos. I have a low res 510 atty sittin' here somewhere. I like the 808 cartos better than the LR 510 atty. I get as much vapor and TH but more flavor. Another thing about this combo is that the cartos are shorter than an atty and cart so the 510 cartos only stick out of the cone about a quarter inch. With the adapter and 808 carto the carto sticks out about a half inch so my lips don't seal off the cone and I get a better draw.

Thanks guys. Great information for a newbie. I'm trying to track down a code for puresmoker right now. Seems they don't have the greatest feedback rating when it comes to service. But for the price, it might be worth the hassle.

Please, don't let price be the deciding factor...ever...with anything related to ecigs.

With the exception of the obvious scams of someone selling something for $150 that normally sells for $30 or $50 at most other vendors...

But if you're talking about only a 10 or 20 percent difference, quality and service is more imporant.

Just my opinion.

Tastyvapor is the best juice store and has the ego for cheap!

I checked the Tastyvapor website for the ego and it states "NOT a Joyetech item! But a champion performer nonetheless!" Does this mean it's a clone? I love the price but should I be worried if it isn't original?

TastyVapor's main line of business is top-notch specialty e-liquids, and only offers certain hardware components as a sideline. They make no bones about the fact that their eGo and 510 kits and parts are no-name clones, which may or may not perform up to par with the name-brand Joyetech product. Hence, the low price of $49.00 plus $5.00 shipping.

Puresmoker is offering a dual genuine Joye ego kit for $49.99 plus $10.95 shipping (best price anywhere, as far as I can see). So, in essence, you will be paying about $7 more for the genuine Joye product. Personally, I'd rather pay the extra 7 bux for the name brand. I already have the Joye eGo kit I got from another vendor during a July 4 sale, and I am happy as a clam with it!
