After using Xhale02s from the local 7-11 the last 3 weeks, and wanting a bit more out of the experience, placed my first order with V4L. Since I was a long time Dunhill smoker, had to give them a shot.. Went with the manual starter kit, and an order of Dunhall carts. I assume those are the "copy" of Dunhills? Starting off on the right foot as I recieved notice my order shipped the same day I placed it.... Nice ! Now the waiting game begins....

Any pointers on what I should expect going from the 401 clones to the 808 ? Are they similar to the Gamucci disposables? Those were the first e-cig I ever tried, really liked the feel, though the liquid kind of sucked.. LOL

D, There is no comparision to the 401's! I have never tried the Gamucci's though. The 808's are easy to use, flavorful and easy to refill. Again I have never smoked a Dunhill but did try the juice. It was a full favored tobacco taste. I am a wimp and don't vape tobacco's except for Wowboy (a combo of tobacco and chocolate).
I think you are going to be surprised by the V4L experiance. It's a world of flavors. You didn't say what size you bought. I like the extra longs but it seems the guys prefer the regulars and shorty's (shorts are closer to the 401's..maybe a bit longer. the regulars are closer to a regular analog. The longer the battery the longer between charges.
Welcome to the V4L family and to ECF! let us know how you like them when they get there.

Welcome to our little corner of the ECF! I am an extra long gal too, but no matter what you ordered, I am sure you will be pleased! And don't be afraid to try the non tobacco flavors as well - it was the cappuccino that got me off cigs, and I have avoided the tobacco flavors ever since! ;)

Can't wait to hear what you think!

dkhawkee -
First off - good luck to you. I hope e-cigs are as easy a smoking alternative for you as they were for me.

FWIW - some advice from my personal experience:

My first order with V4L (the first e-cig I ever tried) was very similar to yours - I smoked Marlboro so I bought some Cowboy carto's and the starter kit.

I found within a couple days that 1) I didn't buy enough carto's, and 2) I didn't like the taste of the Cowboys (they didn't taste, to me, anything like the real thing).

So in my second order I got a couple different flavors. Once THAT order hit my mailbox I've been a non-smoker ever since - literally.

So don't get discouraged if you don't like the taste of the carto's. I have tried like 20-30 different juices over the last 7 months (from V4L and elsewhere) and I currently have a top-5 that I vape regularly. NONE of my favs are tobacco flavors, btw.

It cost a bit extra for me to hunt around for what would become my favorite juices (and I have quite a few 5ml bottles of juice that I'll probably never finish) but it was well worth it.

To this day, tho, I cannot believe how painless the transition from smoking to vaping was for me. I hope it's the same for you!

I was also in the mindset that I only wanted to vape tobacco and menthols and now my top flavors are flavors I'd have never imagined even liking let alone being favs. I was recently blown away by how much I like the taste of lemon lime liquids and I thought it sounded nasty before I tried it. Pink lemonade right now is my current flavor of the week! I'm rocking a purple battery with a pink carto and still feeling macho.

Heyas all, thanks for the warm welcome. I went with the ultimate manual starter kit. I tried both manual and auto types thus far, found I missed the manual on the disposables I startered with. Went with Dunhall due to being a smoker of Dunhill for years, though I am wanting to try some other flavor types later on. I did look at the XL batteries, but, decided to stick with something similar to what I know for now. I don't vape as much as I used to smoke though, so battery life may not be an issue, if it is, will go with the longer lasting ones. :)

Now Machoking, I'm with ya on the colors. My favorite color is pink, oooohhhh yeaaahhh ! Expect for my wife givin' me greif about it, ie. she won't let me have a pink themed bedroom, it works for me. :)

I sure miss the Dunhill Fine Cut cig.'s before they ruined them with the FSC.
Now they taste like crap just like any other brand.

Your Dunhall's won't taste like Dunhill but none of the tobacco's taste like real cig.'g
But the Dunhall's are not sweet.
They were my first purchase also. Along with Premium Vanilla which is not too sweet.

Good for you...I think I just have to find a flavor I really like. ( oh...and I think I still miss them b/c I never wanted to quit in the first place...the FSC crap forced me into it. I never had any symptoms from smoking until they added the Fire Safe chemicals. Now I can't even smoke one without numerous health effects. I do feel sorry for the people who are still smoking them ( although they taste awful to me) b/c I suspect the ill effects of smoking them are just being delayed in these people. And may not be reversible after many many years of smoking them.

You are gonna love V4L's products! I was looking for a good menthol when I started, and actually V4L's Nuport does it for me. My son smokes Newps and wanted to try this. The analog version kicks my .... but man this is good juice! Even my cigar-smoking boyfriend likes it. But like everyone says, don't limit yourself to traditional tobacco/menthol flavors. They rarely taste like the real thing, and honestly, who wants them to? Those things taste terrible now! I love fruity flavors and candy flavors. And I totally didn't expect to like them at all. V4L is awesome for throwing in samples and that really broadened my taste horizons (now that I can actually taste stuff again).

As for battery size, I have shorties and regulars and I like them both fine. The shorty is great when I'm driving and want to hold it in my mouth like an analog because the weight is a bit less. The regular size reminds me of a 100. I'm getting an XL next cause they just look "elegant", I think.

Have fun and enjoy the vape!
