I've assembled a tool to wrap my coils. After doing about 3 coil wraps I thought "There has to be a Better way"
So I came up with this.

It's a piece of hard maple with a 3/32" drill bit sunk into it with a angled slot cut into it right at the edge of the drill bit. It is angled in 2 directions. As you can see in the image, angled away from the drill bit and it also has slope so right at the drill bits back side the slot ends.
You put the kanthal in the slot and hold it down with your thumb along the flat side of the small maple block and then start your wraps as the Kanthal comes out of the slot right at the back side of the drill bit.
I cut the slot with a very small Japanese pull saw.
Now if I had some Kanthal I could put it to work.
This will also work for parallel wrapped coils by putting both strands of Kanthal in the slot.
