For you that use the Melo tank: I'm wondering what settings you use?

Have one, don't love it. I was using .5 coils around 35w. That was before I switched to rtas and "subwatting" ;)

I've read the nr-r-nr coils save the rubber insulators. Are there any other differences between those and regular coils. I dry burn the CLR coils and haven't noticed any damage to insulators, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Just wondering if there is anything I should be aware of with the nr-r-nr.

I use them so I don't burn the insulator in the pt coils.

I'm getting virtually no vapor from my melo 2 :(

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't have the Melo 2, just the mini that came with Pico. If I have tanks that aren't making vapor, I try a few things to see if I can isolate the problem.

If you aren't getting vapor, have you tried hitting the fire button and listening for the sizzle?
Can you turn off the air and take some hard draws to pull more liquid in the coil/wick?
Have you tried bumping up the power?
Have you tried swapping it to a different mod to see if the problem is the atty or coil?
If the mod registers the existence of a coil, but you get nothing, I would switch out the coil for a new one. If it does show ohms, are they about what you know it should be?
If the old coil is still fairly new, I give it a vodka bath and try it again on another day.

I thought it was weird too which is why I asked for advice

What resistance is your coil? If you can see voltage, set it at about 3.6 volts . You can bump it up slowly from there.

It's no longer my device. I'll check when I get home. Sorry, I didn't realize that information was needed!

Do you buy them for your CLRs? I was thinking about getting some but can't figure out which. Does this one seem right? The ohms are right for me.

$1.99 Free Shipping Pre-Coiled Wires for Rebuildable Atomizers (50-Pack) (0.3mm Dia., 1.5ohm, 30*30mm: 50-Pack) at m.FastTech.com

We actually got the slightly higher ohmed ones. These:

$4.56 Kanthal A1 Pre-Coiled Resistance Wire for Rebuildable Atomizers (100-Pack) - 30 AWG / 0.25mm dia. / 1.5ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

But I like the ones you posted, Lowjumper. I've added them to the never-ending wish list.

I think they will be to wide:danger:, I use these=https://img.fasttechcdn.com/221/2210204/2210204-1.jpg
they fit great, use the drop down menu to find the ohm you want, that look like these;)

VERY cute!

I have nothing useful to say about your device and this phenomenon, but you should determine if the phenomenon is reproducible - can you make it happen again and if you can, how?

It's possible your husband was inadvertently holding a button or a button got stuck in an unusual fashion or the device is really defective.

Good idea, I'll try tonight!

This is interesting idea. If the mod locks in a resistance and does not do real time monitoring of coil resistance, a faulty coil could make such a device read changing wattage.

Yes it does save the insulators if you use them in a device with insulators. I have found also since I switched to using them, you always get your set ohms, every time, no matter the leg length, or how you install it. I like the consistency the most about them, and I have had good luck with FT getting the ohms correct. Every now and then I get one the weld will break while installing, but at less than 4 cents each, its no big deal. :)

The G2 is the ergonomic antithesis! But it is the best one in my rotation....and though I don't own a fraction of the Shawn's Vape Emporium, I do own several mods.

Yeah brewbear, I don't have ¼ of the mods that Shawn has, but my collection will be getting greater now that I have about all the Atomizers that I will need for the foreseeable future (just need a couple more). I have 3 HΩ Slice's and 1 G2 with another on the way, as those are the only mods that I TC with (Kanthal/NiCr builds). I waited to get into the TC game until something came along that did Kanthal and/or NiCr as that is the only wire that I have (and I have a lot of it) and didn't want to get yet another wire just to TC, so I waited, and then Hohmtech came thru for me and I now TC my wire choice, 28g NiCr and 30g twisted Kanthal at about 10w to 10.5w (the minimum wattage that those mods will go down to) and am as happy as can be, and consider both Hohmtech mods the best that I have, hands down, but the G2 is a brick for sure.

Does anyone have any idea of what could've happened?

Is it a repeatable issue? If so, the board likely shifted in the housing. Using a USB cable GENTLY try the shift the board around...

Depends on the coil. I have a Melo 3 currently running at 35w, I don't remember which coil is in it. Mod says .4ohms but I don't recall if it is a Melo coil, or one of the other various compatible coils I own to be honest. I know, before anyone says anything, I really need to get more organized and detail oriented about that type of thing. Guess I need to start using a spreadsheet, right @Katdarling ?
