Shine is cute. Ii hate to tell you this but you'll need just as many water changes. Shine will clean algae and bits of food but can do nothing for the ammonia and nitrate that accumulate in the water from fish poop and are harmful to your fish.

What kind of fish do you have?
True, but it is possible to largely take care of those problems, though a bit of work and complicated. Healthy live plants will do the trick. It's a matter of the right number and type of plants for the number of fish.

I agree live plants and not crowding the tank (tatio of fish to gallins of water) makes a big difference but I still think water changes are essential to the tank's health. In another life I bred angelfish and oscars (yup I know oscars are very messy but I love them).

I tested the water regularly and foynd that water changes were necessary. That's because regardless of how careful one is not to overstock the fish our tanks lack the micro-organisms found in nature that keep the water balanced.

Fellow member @corn flakes was very kind and sent me a few feet of stainless steel wire (28 & 30 gauge). Thanks !!! One day I'll get the nerve up to order on the interwebs,I feel like a shmuck for not doing so as of yet... :(

Anyhow I took my first foray into Temperature control,It's interesting.I spun up a coil 28 gauge 2.4mm id 9 wraps, set it into my serpent mini and spun that onto my Pico.Mr.Pico said the coil was .95 ohms set the mod to SS setting clicked the mod fire button 4 times to set the watts (8.4) then set the temperature to 210 celcius and vaped......Hmmmmm....IT WORKS... I've been vaping this (unflavoured) for about 20 minutes or so and all's fine.Didn't realize it'd be this simple.

In a bit I may start playing around with the TCR settings to see if I can fine tune things but for now I'll leave it as is.
If I may ask what's the TCR range for 316L stainless steel wire and what number do you use and why?

    Thanks
And A BIG THANKS to Cornflakes!!!

I just keep in my head that TC is merely "governing" how hot a vape you're going for. The power setting is how hard you "push the accelerator." Once the device hits temp, power output dwindles to "maintain". It's really not all that different than non-TC vaping. SS wire seems to be a "cleaner" vape for me (even when NOT in TC mode. So yes, you can use SS in regular power mode or in SS, if your device permits.)

    Good for you, SNM!

    Cheers!

finally someone who doesn't build :) I get so lost with half of the conversations on here but the kabuki is a very good tank, it's very expensive but I recently got one.
However to say it's so expensive it's not even that much better than the Nautilus 2, in fact the Nautilus 2 has better airflow.
I still dual use too but haven't had a single cigarette today. I'm in the UK too so you gotta bare in mind it's 05:15pm
I think sub ohm tanks are terrible hahaha, before last august I quit for 3 years an that whole time was a nautilus mini.
I don't get the hype with the cloud beast, it's terrible. The cleito beats it hands down for flavour. I love how aspire cater for every need for me.

First - Congratulations on not smoking a cigarette (or any tobacco product) today . . .

AND - I agree, most of the conversations about the different RTA/RBA & other tanks and rebuilding coils can be overwhelming to read all the time. However, there are a few that I follow just in case there is something interesting or I can learn something new from them, especially if there is a product or something I NEED to avoid . . . BTW: Although I am not interested in rebuilding coils - I can tell someone how to do it if necessary . . . As for the any sub-oHm vaping - NOPE - NOT GONNA HAPPEN EVER AGAIN . . . I lose "My" breath and coughed enough already . . . Worse is walking into a vape meeting or BM filled with a haze of vapor from cloud chuckers (which - IMHO - is even worse then walking into a room filled with a blue haze of cigarette smoke) . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

I used to change out 25% of the water once a week, it was essential in helping to keep the water just right for fish and plants.

FastTech sells these. They'll definitely protect your tank... might get you some funny looks though.

I agree he n2 has better airflow for ease of changing but the kabuki is a much better tank for usage. The n2 really only holds 1.8ml and filling it or changing the coil is a giant pain imo. You should try this vapefly nicolas I've been talking about. It's under $10 and a five pack of coils is under 4.

    By. ThE way all

Wholesale.3avape.com is selling out of these so if you wanted to get one cheap time is running out. The .6 coils at 14w and the 1.8 coils at 14 watts are pretty similar. The 1.8 has a smaller inner bore but not substantially and the .6 has better flavor. Either coil will work. Don't be put off by the fact the coil is rated at .6. I agree usually sub ohm tanks don't work closed down but this is a mtl tank and the .6 coil is very misleading. It works very well for mtl. Just keep it under 18 watts and the flavor is great.

The t22 or t18 are very good for the price and definitely worth getting @h00ligan

Thanks I'll probably end up trying one. Did you prefer them to the n2?

    Tcr for 316L is .00089 for 304 it's .00092

If you like stainless and you're was tiny very accurate temp control try nife48/52 which has a tcr of .00405. Much higher so more accurate. Imo the best wire for tc

I build a lot but I'm getting tired of the bits polluting my house. It's not just the building part that's frustrating. It's the fact in this small condo I don't have place for a bench or similar. Once you build and start making your own juice the space becomes an issue. I've already dedicated half my kitchen and it's not enough. :/.

Best in mind there are coils under an ohm now which are meant for mtl and work well. They don't need to be vaped direct lung and they bring a lot of flavor to the party even at low power. While I tend to agree by and large sub homing is not for mtl people there are now good exceptions. Depends how much density you like rather than volume. The lower resistance on mtl can offer more density. If paired with the right airflow.

I like building because I can get what I want. What I'd been doing was building to around .8 for my mtl rigs with clapton wire. Special clapton not the regular awful for mtl stuff Clapton made for mtl vaping. But now that I can get coils build how I build for under a dollar a piece I don't know if I'll continue building. At least take a break for a while. Except they don't make these coils out of stainless steel! So building is kind of necessary for me personally.

we just started a 10 gallon tank, not sure what exactly were gonna end up with, but we only have 3 fish (2 zebra tetras and dalmation molly) and now two snails. lol

What is that fish @petrotech so nice :)

    it's a snail. lol.

the tank is only a couple weeks old. we checked the water every couple days and now once a week. our local pet store does free water testing, and with the zoo at our house we're there 2-3 times a week anyways.

the "cleaning" part was more referencing my over eager 4 year old who likes to feed the fish when we aren't looking. lol. tank is way too small for any of the cool bottom feeders. lol.

used to have a 500 gallon tank growing up, had a blast with it. i'd set it up, cycle it, get bored, set my friends up with tanks, give them my fish and start all over.

I bought a second vapefly instead of the t22. In the end it came down to coil cost. I bought another two packs (1.8 this time for more testing) for $3.80 a five pack it's hard to justify paying $2 a coil on the t22.

    Six packs of coils should
Last quite a while. I won't have to build and the great selloff of 2017 can begin.

I looked at those at 3f, but prices are different from what you are showing. Not sure how to get to where you are on that site.

Not 3f. I'd originally typed 2f but corrected it. If I have since typed 3f my apologies. You have to go to the wholesale link for these prices to show

Oh and make sure you're logged in with an account.

Yah that's it. You have to be logged in with an account to see that price. It must have to do with agreements not to sell below a certain amount.
Thanks, I'll give that a try. I even went so far as adding it to the cart but there was no price change.

That did change the price to $13 and $5 for coils, I'm guessing because I selected personal vaper account instead of wholesale. Oh well. I shouldn't be buying anything anyway.

Yah the price drop happened when I went to PayPal to pay the first time I double checked to see if it was right as it was so cheap. Just make an account and you'll see it I'm confident.

I just bOught the silver one and two packs of coils shipped for $21.xx I think.
