Need to play around with the erlk a bit more before I put it into rotation. I seem to have got the wicking down ok but I must have knocked something around reassembling it, my resistance jumped up a bunch. Just don't have the energy to fiddle any more tonight, just want to kick back and vape and read. :vapor:
That's exactly what I'm doing now. In between looking at ECF, I'm reading an old Stephen King novel and happily vaping away!

How appropriate!

That's a little eerie, I'm reading The Stand for about the millionth time.
Wow, quite a coincidence indeed! I'm currently on the Bachman Books reading my all-time favorite, the Long Walk

Don't judge a book by its movie.

On a vaping note I am putting together a flavor order hoping there is a sale.
Actually I thought the mini series wasn't half bad. Pretty good job of staying true to the book.

For code I remember CQ- it's the vibration pattern on my phone for when the wife texts. Also the phrase "best bent wire" [emoji23]
I am very interested in the Voopoo Newbie as it might pair well with the 24mm Beserker. My only 24mm mod is a 2 battery anchor that I never carry any more.

I got my Erl today as well. I actually used it on one of my backups for backups Beacon mechs, to start out. With the air on the bottom, if there was a leak, I figured it would be easier to clean the mech out, vs having it dump into the 510 of one of the regulated mods I normally use. I thought it might take me a few tries to get the wicking down right. After a third of a tank, there wasn't a hint of any leakage at all, so I swapped it over to my evic mini. I normally run 8.5 to 9.5 watts, depending on the tank, but the flavor on the Erl was so good, I was able to throttle back to 7 watts and the flavor didn't miss a beat. What a nice little tank!

    Thanks @ToolmanTexas for the recommendation!

To join the code fun, I'd have to rate the Erl .._. _... that's FB or 'Fine Business' in Ham Radio speak. Been playing around in Ham Radio for almost 40 years, and using code is my favorite mode. Haven't plugged in a microphone in almost 20 years.

I picked up code pretty fast to get my novice at 5 wpm, but could never get past 7 wpm and needed 10 in order to get my tech back then. I've kept the license alive, but hadn't been around any Hams since no-code came out. I did have some fun when I was learning code from a friend that had a computer program for typing to code. I was a fast typist so one night he let me loose on the keyboard at full speed for a bit just to hear what the code would sound like. My favorite Ham shortcuts were YL and XYL for the irony.
YL is young Lady (girlfriend), XYL is ex-young lady (wife)

I can't get past the name VOOPOO for a mod. I'm pretty much stuck in Provari-land and subwatting, with an occasional venture to sub-ohm with my Pico kit.

I've used Lenox based OS in the past, and I did enjoy using it for a bunch of reasons, lack of viruses being one of them, and Apple was pretty good in that manner, but I was using Mac like over a decade ago. Now I have a Windows 10 computer, and yes, the upgrades are torturous, I have to use Microsoft Edge as it's my firm belief that Microsoft doesn't want you using Chrome, and I get unblocked pop-up viruses with adds for days. This is despite running Malware bytes, CC cleaner AND whatever junk Microsoft has on there already. I only use Chrome for opening my gmail account, now...

I'm just hoping the day will never come where I have to back up everything to "the cloud" that nebulous idea doesn't appeal to me.... oh well, I suppose that's what USB drives are for...

I love Stephen King, the Unabridged the Stand is one of my favorite novels, he does apocalyptic SO well....

To get back to vaping, my Kabuki fill problem remediated itself after I liberally smeared e-juice from the O-ring, but I do have some glass tanks on order, they just feel nicer and are prettier than what I have on there now... Glad I'm not trying to squeeeeeze the top and the tank together while filling, that's not really fun. :)

I'd HIGHLY recommend picking up a set or three of his silicon rings. They make a HUGE difference in the overall experience of using the Kabuki. I hated the original rings, and was barely using the tank because of them.

Plus you can get some pretty kool kolors. ;)

Hmm... interesting. I'll have to look into it. I was having 0 problems with the O-rings until my glass tank shattered. I guess I'll see how it goes when the glass gets here, and if there are better O-rings for the setup, that's good to know. I'll have to check what O-rings came with the "Limited edition titanium set." I have to say I was unthrilled when my product ARRIVED with a wonky O-ring between the 510 adaptor and the tank, it was completely deformed and not inserted correctly. I haven't had problems and did replace it, but maybe the O-rings are not Zen's forte... I really should email and inform them of the bad O-ring, maybe while asking about the silicone O-rings, but I'm going to wait for now, though it's very helpful to know there's a solution if this problem re-occurs. Thanks, DPLongo!

Here is our very own @qorax tutorial on the Erlkonigin w build and wick method.

Thank you ToolmanTexas. This was one of the clearest easiest to understand "how to" videos I have seen. It is my first qurax video that I have watched, he is an excellent teacher.
    Thanks again for the reference.

    Thanks for the link, DPLongo!

The ONE and only problem I've had with the airflow valves is that occasionally I will rest my finger on one and be completely unable to vape... They don't seem sharp to me, but since this is a new tank and the new version, maybe it's different in the titanium? IDK, I'll probably cut myself today, now that my clumsy self knows it's possible. I think I may purchase some O-rings, as it may help, but I really need to check that they aren't silicone to start. My box kit came with spare O-rings and they look just like the silicone ones. Zen is going to be getting an email asking some questions, LOL. But I've heard customer support is awesome, so no worries there...

TELL ME you wrote that email DPL! LOL, it sounds just like something you might write. But kudos to whoever did!

It's possible the later ones were smoothed out some. The ones we had were very early runs.

Emails, emails... (overused but always a favorite) >>>

In all seriousness, that Kabuki left Stamford, CT, and Stacie & I had been tracking it for almost two weeks. We couldn't figure out WHY it was going where it was going, and when it landed in Chicago, I totally lost it.

I could have WALKED it to them faster than it was taking.

Oh, I have to ask a dumb question... Is HOH the main distributor for Zen, or are they separate companies? I bought my Kabuki directly from Zen, so I need to know who to direct my inquiries to. I did see they had the new Kabuki with blue O-rings but decided to go with Zen since I did want to buy my original directly from the masterful craftsman who created it... But it looks like HOH is a great place for accessories? Are they a better price as well? I mean, no point spending extra when it's not needed, but I do need to ask Zen directly I guess, about what the O-rings are made of and if the silicone is better.... I wouldn't mind a bit of color on my black and grey tank either, though Rainsong is kindly sending me some colorful vape bands in any case... TY @RainSong!
