Loading up on nic is one of the most simple and cheap things to do, though I'm not aware of any initiative to go after nic in the US, it sure doesn't hurt to stock up.

This calculator should give you a good idea on what you need.

stocking up on Nicotine makes a lot of sense.

I am uncertain, but I would tend to think that if something is yanked off the market first, it would be DIY nic, honestly, so I'm going by hunch more than anything tangible.... That's just not something I think anyone making money on taxing and regulating juice and gear, really, as it's so much less expensive than buying premade juice. Perhaps I am overly paranoid however, but I really see a strong case being made that buying wholesale nic is going to be difficult, at the very least.

Nic seemed like the weakest link in the chain to me so I bought 4 liters of it. I would like to get more but can’t spare any more room in my freezer. I would like to get a stand alone small freezer I can put a lock on and another 4 liters. I am honestly not afraid for the future of my own personal vaping, but do wonder about what new vapers will face over the coming years.

I completely agree with you...Nuts & Bolts...Going after Flavors / PG / VG / Batteries would seem like a fools folly to me...Even going after Gear seems a tough nut to crack...But it would seem restrictions on shipping or even possession of nic would be a likely target...But then again there are a bazillion nic addicts in the smoking world so even that might not be so easy...I've pondered the possibility that the Genie is so far out of the bottle they might not be able to really do much of anything...And 3+ years from now I have to believe the number of people who vape is going to go ballistic...I have no farther to look than in the mirror to see a perfect example of how vaping is an excellent method of smoking cessation...Maybe the best one of all ?...Do you pretty much agree on the 10 year nic life in the freezer ?

Edit:..."might not be able to really do much of anything"...Except Tax it to death !!!

And curious...EU on nic...Isn't it something like no more than 20ml pre-made and no nic over 12mg ???...And just look at how ridiculous the 2ml tank size regulation is...Just plain silly !!!...Trig

I don't expect any advance notice of a crackdown on nic, so I bought my liters now just in case. Should there be much notice, I expect vendors would raise prices during the remaining time, so I bought my liters now just in case. It cost me about a months worth of cigarettes to have a ten year nic supply.

I'm pretty confident that with freezer and glass storage my nic supply will be pretty fresh at the ten year mark.

I will be adding more nic when storage allows as I expect my wife and I to vape for the foreseeable future and chances are at least one of us will live more than ten years. Probably her as my continued gear acquisition may become a cause for justifiable homicide.

What are the basics of how they're going after nic up in your neck of the woods ???...Trig

This is last week announcement on top of the federal laws coming as well. Nic is already a controlled substance and not legal for import.

ONTARIO – BILL 174

Having had a chance to review the new legislation proposal in full here are the changes and how we will be affected;

1. No sale or supply to anyone under 19 years of age. *Already Law*

2. No display. No person can touch, hold, view, smell or taste products before purchase.

3. No promotion. So no contests, no freebies, no sampling. No advertising. No facebook. No Instagram. No t-shirts, no swag. No signs posted for promotion. Except pricing signs provided signs are not visible outside the store. Documents providing information about products are allowed if they meet specific conditions and adhere to the bill.

4. No promotion in any way in a place of entertainment. A place of entertainment means a place devoted to eating, drinking or any form of amusement.

5. No sales in prohibited places like school's or hospitals.

6. No signs in retail stores.

7. All products must be packaged in accordance with regulations or sale is prohibited.

8. No flavoured products. No exceptions are listed in the regulations.

9. No sale of products from vending machines.

10. No vaping in enclosed public places. Possible exemption for vape shops, but doubtful as this applys to Business' in a residence or places such as long term care facilities. If it's possible for an exemption for vape shops the space must have proper ventilation and signs must be posted saying vaping occurs. No assistance can be provided by employees, so still no testing and product vaped must already be purchased.

11. No vaping in vehicles with people 16 and under.

12. Gives enforcement officers more rights than that of the rcmp; power to enter anywhere except a private dwelling, power to question anyone entering, search anyone or anything, seize or copy any information.

I agree completely.

vaping helped me break a 38 year smoking habit. I tried every method to quit except Chantix. I've been off cigarettes almost 5 years and free of nicotine almost two years.

Don't know about 10 years in the freezer but one or two people were using nicotine that had been frozen for six years

Bureaucrats never saw a tax they didn't like.

My gut feeling is that nic. will still be available, but it will be taxed to extinction. They aren't going to slaughter the cash cow, just milk it to death.

The No Flavor restriction just seems like a silly one to me...But it could run some B&M guys Out Of Business...

I know you already pay through the nose for nic...How much is 1 liter of 100mg for you ???

It's actually no more than 10mL pre-made and no nic over 20mg (so in reality 18mg). Although the TPD was meant to standardize everything, some countries have gone even further than is necessary and some have interpreted things differently - for example in France (and I think maybe Germany) there is no 2mL size restriction on tanks, only on pre-filled cartridges and disposable e-cigarettes. I could go on (and on, and on) about how ridiculous the whole thing is but I won't bore you all, suffice to say that the fact vaping was included at all in the Tobacco Products Directive is ludicrous, particularly as an empty tank for example has to be labelled "This Product Contains Nicotine" when it clearly doesn't etc etc .........

Yep...The Tax $$$ are the driving force...I saw an interesting interview on Bloomberg the other morning with the CFO of one of the Major British Tobacco Co's...Not a verbatim quote but he said...In the future we plan on having a substantial position in the vaping industry...

Big Pharma...Big Tobacco...Tax Revenue...Al Capone would'a been grinning from ear to ear...Vapeasies ??? :D

And It had crossed my mind as you mention different regs. in different countries that...We The People...Of The Peoples Republic Of California...Might tell the FED's to shove it...As with other things...So our glorious State Legislators can grab a bigger piece of the pie $$$...Gee-Whiz that does sound cynical...And probably the truth...

California does already have a pretty stiff tariff on E-Liquid as it is...I think it's almost $4 on a 30ml pre-mix...Trig

Not yet 6 years, but I'm using nic that's been in the freezer since Mar 2012 with no issue ;)

Well, seems to me that vapers in Canada will be doing 2 things to get around that:

(1) Learning to DIY their own altogether

or

(2) Learning about & buying some of the premixed flavorings (like OSDIY's One Stop Blends + One Stop Flavors) to just add to the unflavored eliquid they'll still be able to buy.

Speaking of @JCinFLA, I picked up some of the Lucky Shot a while back but finally DIYed it and it is exceptional... I'm mostly a tobacco guy but I do like a good dessert for a change and Lucky Shot is so simple, yet so flavorful!
Thank you!

The freezer stash has cost between $110 and $160 per liter plus tax and shipping. I have also bought some crap.
