Has any found a supplier or company that has tobacco e-juice like or very similar to MFS Turbosmog, Tall Paul, or Red Luck?

Very true. If I get light headed that means it’s 16 mg instead of my usual 8 mg. BUT I bought this kit and have never used it, now I have an excuse to try it.
Once again, I didn’t read the description of the product. I assumed it would be some type of paper that I just dipped into my juice to see what the level was or something like what you use to check chlorine levels in a pool
Yes and no. Have the kit, but haven't needed to use it(yet). Complete instructions are on the link you provided.(scroll down the page) Its testing the ph levels and the amount used along with a little math will provide your answer.

Just hot tap water from the sink. I’ll definitely shorten my soak time.
However, this did not occur after a soak, just while I was vaping. In fact it hasn’t been soaked/cleaned in quite some time!
Makes me wonder if there is any kind of spray you are using? Like air freshener that may get a little on things when dispensed? Just throwing out a couple of thoughts here....

After looking at the stm clones I have, I am reminded that where your pics are showing the peeling of the paint is on the inside of the tank. Other than the top and base of the stm, the tank portion itself is all glass on the outside of the tank. The painted support parts are inside of the tank and that is what is peeling correct? Has to be flavoring or heat. Something that is occurring inside of the tank.

I definitely appreciate the suggestions/ideas. This is “my” bathroom that hardly ever gets used. Can’t even remember the last time I used air freshener.
Another culprit could be sitting in a car in the heat . However, it’s winter and not hot and it’s never been sitting in my car all day. In fact, I have lots of tanks that are filled and ready to go that sit for weeks and haven’t had any issues. This one was not one of those that sat filled though.

This is disturbing. That said, I've read many reports about the original STMs (white and black) also having similar problems. Kangertech was made aware of it, but the only response from them that I'm aware of was that the paint is food grade and completely safe. Which is why I only own a ss (silver) one--no problems.

I have no idea what kind of paint those clones are using, but it's nasty. Sandpaper?

That’s the idea (using sand paper or a nail file) however, I’m getting a little paranoid. What if it’s cheap-o mystery metal or something. I’m considering tossing it
ETA: only silver STMs from now on for me

When you use these tanks, do you vape on them long enough to get the tank hot?

I'm sorry, I have no idea what to tell you. But since it's happening inside the tank, like Sugar pointed out, I'd probably choose to err on the side of caution. You don't want that in your juice.

Not sure what’s considered a long time. I just took a drag and it was 3 seconds. I’m doubtful that that is considered a long drag.
Anticipating your next question: [emoji4] I don’t chain vape

Do you think I’m being silly about the mystery metal comment? The paint has already peeled off (quite effortlessly I might add. Came off in strips with a toothpick). So there’s no longer a risk of vaping paint, but I’m doubtful about the metal. Part of me says to myself, “ of course it’s stainless steal you dummy what else would it be? But the other part says this is from China where’s there’s not many equipment safety regulations what other metal could it be and is it unsafe?”

If they are from ft look at the description of the product, it should say.
:)

I just checked the ft site, both the pink and blue says stainless steel so you should be good once you get rid of the paint.

My guess would the the metal parts were not cleaned properly before it was painted.

Can't tell you, but I agree with David--this metal, whatever it is, is never being heated so I wouldn't worry too much. The peeling paint, however, is a problem. Just my :2c:

One last thought......are you using nic salts? I don't think there is enough salt in nic to actually do harm, however, it is corrosive and when added to flavors that may be what we consider tank crackers, well, I think you are seeing the results. Early on in vaping around ecf, there were many threads addressing the eliquids that could/would crack the tanks. That is why most of the tanks these days are glass. And, iirc, acrylic tanks are good to use also.

I think we are left with the ejuice inside of a badly painted tank. I would switch both of the flavors to tanks that have no inside paint and you should be fine. If you have succeeded in removing all the paint in your current stm then I would not be afraid to continue to use it.
I am definitely gonna keep a sharp eye on those I have in use. Sorry this happened to you.

And people I know who complained about peeling paint (original Kangers) never used salts, either. Just plain old eliquid--not even juice crackers. Just reporting. Come to think of it. PG is a solvent just by itself, so maybe using paint inside tanks is a bad idea to begin with. I still use PG and PG/VG to "wet burn" my dirty coils (I just vape some unflavored through a tank at higher wattage).

Glycols resemble water in that they are essentially clear, colorless liquids with practically no odor. Glycols are excellent solvents for many organic compounds and are completely water-soluble.
