between here and there
I was just told about a new service the USPS has for customers, and signed up for it. Thought some of you might be interested, too. I was told it's not available in all areas yet, but you can find out if your area has it or not, on their website. It's easy to sign up for it...took me about 3-4 minutes is all.

"Informed Delivery® by USPS®
Digitally preview your mail and manage your packages scheduled to arrive soon! Informed Delivery allows you to view greyscale images of the exterior, address side of letter-sized mailpieces and track packages in one convenient location.*

* Images are only provided for letter-sized mailpieces that are processed through USPS' automated equipment."

It won't show images or count things like magazines, sales fliers, etc. IMO it's a really neat and useful thing!

Agreed, it is useful to me. I have a Post Office box and now know if it is worth a stop at the PO.
I have had this since it first came out. I do find that if I want my packages tracked I have to manually add the tracking number. Plus, for some reason they always send the email twice for the reg mail and only seem to feature 1 piece even tho you may have several in your box.

CMD-Ky---I have a PO Box also and had originally signed up to be able to pay online for the fees....that is how I think I was automatically added to the 'Informed Delivery' system.

:)

There is informed delivery in my area. It is frequently wrong (I just signed for a huge box of stuff that had NO information-- to me-- that it was coming). Even the mail man, who I am now pals with apparently (we share a hatred of bees, LOL) was like, "I have this big thing for you to sign. I have no idea why it didn't register in the system," as he handed it off.

I have found that cultivating a good relationship with one's mailman is a good thing.... :)

Just an FYI ... Well I don't know or remember who started this off, however, After experiencing a very bad day Sunday. Finally went to the ER on Monday. Since then it's been a lot of fun!!!! They found I have an A-fib that was causing all the problems. Now after today's procedure hopefully I'll be able to leave here before the weekend.

@Uncle - Hoping you feel much better soon!

Also, I'm thinking that maybe the age group many of us are in now, in combination with our shared past "bad habit" for decades...might have something to do with why several TPers lately have had similar problems. Whatcha think? I might be way off the mark, but...IMO, it's either that, or you all have just been doing a whole lot more partying and carrying on than the rest of us have been lately! :)

Maybe not. I'm 62. I had a heart attack at 50--after I hadn't smoked for a couple of years. Since then I've passed every test with flying colors. On the other hand, I did a treadmill almost a year before my heart attack and passed it too, so I'm not sure any of that tells you anything. I also don't have high BP, take no heart meds, and the doc says I have the blood of a teenager. And my last two docs said they didn't consider vaping tobacco use much to the displeasure of my employer.

Very strange. I guess you never can tell.

All we can do is take the best care of ourselves we can and appreciate the time we have.
