I've been tetter-totterin' back-n-forth with 2.5mm & 3.0mm I.D.

I'm not tasting any flavor difference but with the 3mm I virtually eliminated dry hits
that big fat wick just chugs along and also stops most juice trying to get out thru the bottom of the coil body
gave up on all but spaced coils long ago - spaced just seems best to me

I'm gonna wrap up an army of 2.5mm and see if it shows any diff - why the heck not

My flavor boost may be associated with the small size of the coil deck on my EHPRo Kayfun 3.1. 3mm wicking produces tails that have to be tucked in or trimmed to get the lower chimney back on. If I don't trim them they can interfere with air flow and that might have something to do with the little bit of flavor increase I can detect with smaller coils.

2.5mm coil wicks fit the coil deck exactly side to side without compressing them into it or trimming. I turn my coils 90 degrees to the line of the coil screws so that the wicking falls over and just fills the deck next to the juice channels on each side. I trim the wick ends so that they just barely touch the deck and keep them from blocking the juice channels.

So, it might just be slightly increased air flow that's in play here.

So to try to stay a bit more on topic (since I don't think I have yet in this new home) I'm looking for suggestions. Looking for 19mm tanks. As a point of reference my very first setup was the Ego One, loved the tight draw of that tank with the original 1.0 ohm coils for my first few weeks, but now prefer something that's not that tight. Current favorite tank in terms of how it vapes is probably my Triton using the 1.8 ohm coil. But it's too big of course for a Provari.
So, 19mm tanks I currently have are a Subtank Nano and an Ego One tank. Haven't tried rebuilding the Ego One CLR heads yet, but might find what I'm looking for there when I do. What other tanks would you suggest?
The eleaf GS air come in different sizes. Have the GS air m and really like it good Vale not a juice guzzler.

Hi @medleypat ,

I too started with the eGo ONE about 9 months ago. I have 2 and still use them every day. I use Protank 2's on them because unlike you, I found the eGo ONES too airy. Go figure, huh?

I purchased an istick 30w a while ago and a Mini Nautilus to go with it. I also use the Mini Nauti on my ego ones and it fits well and performs great. The Nauti has adjustable airflow (4 settings) which might give you what you're looking for.

To my knowledge it's a trusted lil tank, long lasting and performs well.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Been a bit quiet. Distracted by RL but anyway. My aspire Plato arrived Monday and I had mentioned I would review it. So.............

My mum used to say if you can't find anything nice to say don't say anything.

Suffice to say I sold it 2 hours after I unwrapped it and used the proceeds to part fund another billet box. :p

It's a bit of a longer road than I first thought. It's almost like recovery from a bad flu. Lots of sleeping and then bursts of energy that gets him going. The inactivity is driving him nuts.........and the keeping quiet while he sleeps is driving me nuts :p

As soon as he lies down my klutz switch is turned on and I drop every heavy thing I touch. So you could say that sneaking around is not my strong suit, :p:p:p

It's funny how something so small can put a hurting on you. Glad to hear is doing well. I guess in due time he'll be back to his old self using his incredible talent making your beautiful vape gear! Look forward to seeing his work again soon!

Hmmm. At the risk of rocking the boat with your Mum....what was wrong with it? Seems like a good idea, but something wasn't workin' for ya. Please enlighten?

LOL can I say everything. I will be nice.

Firstly it is very lightweight.......so I had difficulty holding it and firing (my issue completely) but it is made of plastic with very thin aluminium cover. It felt cheap and insubstantial for the price. The cover rattles and there is a fix by squeezing the cover I felt that it should be better.

The button is odd. It's clicky if you fire it directly but squishy when you hit the side.
The tank is a free floater so if by any chance you loosen the screw you end up with a lap full of eliquid that comes pouring out of the bottom airholes.

It's very pretty and it's new owner loves it........ I was expecting a bit better quality

I so want a billet box. I think I have my mind made up to get one the first of next month. Do the battery's last long enough to get thru a day at work. I lightly vape while working so its probably more than someone just vaping on their 3 breaks.

So do you use authentic tanks in your clones? I see allot of talk about people putting real ones in them cause of issues. And what atomizer is your favorite, stock style heads and rebuildable?

I got the BB itch and its very itchy so please pardon my volley of inquiry's.

I have multiple boxes on the go so I am not the best judge of battery life. I change them in the morning and only need more if I have a late night or I hit one flavour all day.

I use authentic boro tanks in all my clones and they all have the BVC coils with the billet bridge. I am waiting for the new bridges to be released and I will get a couple of the one that uses nautilus coils. I am now rebuilding my BVC and nautilus coils so not really using a rebuildable atimomizer as such.

The clones become my play boxes where I can test my ideas for modifications, I don't vape on them regularly and occasionally I might take them fishing or out where I am concerned that I will damage my precious genuines.

The clones are nowhere near the quality of the genuines and I would consider them expensive for what they are. Between hubby and I we always have the genuine ones in our daily rotation. They are just so reliable.

Looks like the going rate for a used one is in the 250 neighborhood if supplied with extra's. Maybe they will come down some with the new model being released. But the demand is so high it is not likely. Ive seen them with subtank coils so does than mean you can use the Subtank RBA with the right adapter I guess? That seems like it would be to big but not sure.

There is a second hand blue one in the classies at the moment. I bought one the other day as well so they do come up.

There are a couple of ways to use the Subtank coils.......the new Atmistique bridge and the kangaroo by Ohman. There will also be an Atmistique bridge for the Subtank RBA.
