gotta call bs here. I have a smoke detector in every room. I fog up my bedroom ever night never gone off from vape but using a small propane torch with zero smoke will set it off in 30 seconds or even when I had new water heater installed the map gas set off in utility room which my brother in law stayed before leaving for basic and he fogged it up dripping all day since he had no job or life and never went off.
There are also heat detectors... different breed... actually better...

yes but most common are ionizing detectors, heat are generally industrial and accompany suppression systems
I've had all of the above. Most of the cheap ones at Walmart are photo.

Bea, "off topic" in this thread is often the soup du jour. ;)

No worries. (at this point anyway) :)

Are you saying there is actually a topic for this. I thought that was answered about 45000 posts ago. If not I will hang my head in shame. :(

I didn't realize smoke detectors were that sensitive. I mean vapor isn't smoke. Have they tweaked them to pick up on vapor?
I've opened the oven door while cooking roast veggies at my partners house and the smoke detector goes off every time ..unless I remember to put the range hood exhaust fan on.

I've also blown DL vape clouds directly into the same smoke detector just out of interest and it remains silent
