I actually tried 10.5 watts once. Still waiting for the hair to grow back.

Ches. There are quite a few on the thread who vape higher watts. Just not around yet.
If you ever do that again, try to give us a warning first, OK?

I vape all over the map... it was pretty easy for me... during a normal day off, I vape between 40 and 75 watts, but that's mostly in TC. Not truly cloud chasing... just in search of a consistent, quality vape usually restricted DTL. In the evening, when The Wife is curled up with me, I vape around 8.5 to 20 watts, MTL. Once in a while, I rock all the way up to 150 watts with a mondo build in a mondo tank or rda.

I'm similar in living in TC most of the time. While I am set (after a quick preheat) at 40W ~450F, the graphs show me mostly below 20W to maintain temp through the draw. I found TC was also a necessity for bigger builds as I hated the lag heating all that metal then having it get way too hot into the draw. So I guess I am one of those in between type vapers. I still rely on low watt tootle setups for travel and stealth. Never do a giant build or try to get nuts on power.

True story. Got about 14" here the other day, another inch last night, and a potential mess tomorrow night.

You poor thing
Yep. I have an iCare. Last time I used it it tasted lousy.
I agree it doesnt taste quite as good as my daily vape but it's ok with me because it's only for those rare occasions.
Someone say higher watts? :D
I still tootle from 9-11w, but lately I've been chasing the cloud...I know...HEATHEN!!!
Ok, ok, but you're our heathen so stay put

For those of you who enjoy vaping at the higher level, how long did it take before you discovered you needed a higher vape in order to be satisfied? Does one just keep slowly going higher?

Immediately.

In my case, yes.

But 80W @ 50mg demands respect. I guess.

And two more shall be yours this week. ;)

Let's drop the ProVari bickering - it fits the wants of some and doesn't for others...that is all.

Yo - Tootle Puffers !

Yo backatcha. Thanks, classie. :thumb:

It didn't take any time, as I never did discover that I needed a "higher" vape to be satisfied.

So, to answer your second question, nope, not everyone.

I still vape and totally enjoy my "men's shoe size" vapes....... 9 1/2 to 11.

Do you find you're not enjoying or feeling satisfied by your vapes? Are you thinking of vaping higher watts for that reason?

No, I'm satisfied where I am. But every once and a while I'll experiment with higher levels to see how certain tanks will perform and usually it's too much for me.
I was just curious of others' vaping habits and how/if they change [emoji4]

I must admit I barely followed what you said here. I know TC = temp control but the rest I dont get. What is a "bigger build" for instance? How does temp control work? Nuts on power?

I dont expect you guys to explain it all to me but I would like to read up on it if you can link me to the info.

I always vape at ~8 watts with a 1.6 ohm coil.(2.4mm id 9 wraps 28 gauge kanthal A1)

Every now and again when I was using my Aspire Pegasus V1 mod I'd get jolted on 30 watts by accident if I forget to put the mod to sleep before changing the atomizer.
The mod has a quirky way to sense temp mode by feeding a new coil/atomizer 30 watts for 4 seconds to sense the wire type or somesuch.
Every time it's happened it was a WOW moment and a singed wick...not nice! It's one of the reasons I rarely use the pegasus anymore.

Still a happy ex-smoker at, typically, about 1.5 Ω in a KF2 and 8 - 9 watts. Haven't felt any need to go higher. Well, a couple of my flavors prefer 9.5.... ;)

I knew I should have grabbed a few more of those.....

@Bea-FL TC gets used for Ni200, Ti, sometimes SS and sometimes NiCr. I like to think of it as a "governor" so your coil never exceeds the temp you set as threshold. Power here merely gets you to temp. "Bigger build" I believe is intended as thicker wire (i.e. lower gauge), bigger diameter coil (3-3.5mm coils), all for use at higher power. Like Mr. Shawn, I vape all over the board (otherwise I'll get bored)
