Odd man (woman) out here.

There seems to be a sort of (unspoken) journey amongst vapers and vaperettes... that we must move from pop in coils to recoiling and rewicking our own.

I see both as viable alternatives. Not everyone can or WANTS to RB atomizers. Sometimes the simplicity of the vape is more highly valued than the dollars saved.

Other times, the joy of creating exactly what we want, manufactured by our own two little hands, is the ultimate.

But not always. I do believe there is no right or wrong answer to the activity, no do I believe that one progresses to a higher level of vape because they roll their own.

I didn't roll my own cigs, either. I gladly paid the man to hand me the perfected carton of smokes.

I prolly SHOULD learn to change the oil in my car..... but I dun wanna. I'm happy to pay someone to do that for me, even tho that is prolly an activity I could learn and could do, and save buckareenos along the way. But no, thank you so much.... no.
I don't wrap coils because I save money, but because (for me) they're better (same as I rolled my own tobacco ... they tasted way better than the tailor made ones). But, for my daughter, pre-made coils suit her better

That is something that bothers me about the whole sub-ohm craze.. I hear terms like "my vaping evolved" or "I moved up to DL"... Indicating that it's a better, more advanced way... It's not, it's simply a preference. There are pros and cons to all and one simply arrives at styles they prefer.

Well said! I taught myself with the help of youtube videos so that I would know I can do it. Yes, it's easy and a lot cheaper but I still prefer popping a stock coil in.

And I wont change my oil either. But I bake all our bread and make all the cheeses we eat. To eaches own.

I agree, there is no "better" way to vape. I can go between DL and mtl depending on mood and environment (mtl pretty much out and about and stealth). I do prefer the "easier" draw on airy tanks but find nothing special in seeing lots of vapor, I just want a nice tasting juice that's satisfying. I also use factory coils at times when building, or more importunately rewicking will be inconvenient, again such as traveling. You can do both, and enjoy them for what they are.

I will admit I do find it more gratifying to buy a new tank then a couple of packs of coils for essentially the same price.

I've got myself a nice "new" pipe to tootle on. Somebody kindly donated me a Hammer mech mod (for which I've got loads of batteries because of my other pipes) that he hadn't even used. Today I was in one of my local vape shops & the manager took pity on me because they didn't have anything I wanted. I came away with a Nautilus Mini tank for a fiver & he gave me an angled pipe style drip tip. So I've got a pipe that I've always wanted, with a decent tank & a fitting looking tip for £5 add some 1.6Ω attys for half price & I have to say so far, I'm loving it. Perfect for tootling around the house.

I also was pleased to notice I wasn't talked down to when I mentioned that I wasn't interested in sub ohm vaping as has happened in the past in some shops. I think it helped that he also had a Hammer & an e-pipe in his personal stash. I agree that there is a bit of an attitude with some of the DL/SO crowd that if you tootle or (god forbid) use a cigalike (even if it is a separate tank atty combo & not carto) that you're somehow inferior.

Having never been in there before & only went in because I was passing & there was a parking space empty near directly outside, I have to say, I will be using them again. (although I won't disclose who they are as he made me promise I wouldn't tell anyone that they gave me freebies / discounts)

I rather use the phrase "Full Circle" since able to easily build a .4ohm cloud up to a 1.8 or whatever I decide as I'm sitting there. Vape the juice I made and able to keep my wife happily vaping....I know my priorities. ;) Not having to rely on others or something in order to survive if vaping bottoms out due to regulations.

I don't wrap coils because I save money, but because (for me) they're better (same as I rolled my own tobacco ... they tasted way better than the tailor made ones). But, for my daughter, pre-made coils suit her better

Saving the money is a perk. Tasting better is the bonus. Using your own skills to achieve both is priceless that can't be taken away.
I gave up feeling sorry or pushing those into a direction who don't want too. Its their choice, their money, their aggravation and their life...sorry I don't care as long as it doesn't affect me.
My new passtime is Android TV box that is so amazing with the right tweaking caused me to cut my TV bill in half, so I save 50 bucks a month on a 50 dollar box. Took me less than a week to learn enough to remove the "fully loaded" crap and install just what wanted and it runs great.

I'm honestly not too keen on inhaling unnecessarily large quantities of vapor. Not to mention the additional expense of plowing through juice. I'll stick to my little wimpy MTL gear.

You dun hafta!

Where you accessorize your vapes - cute, indeed - and find pleasure in that, I build, and find pleasure in that.

Tonight - just to wind down - I built 2 RDAs, and I dusted off, cleaned off, and built the Nectar. Ahhhhh...

But I did not bejewel, bangle, dangle, paint, etch, wrap, or otherwise modify anything.

OK... I'll admit it... The Nectar has a blue tank and a blue drip tip, so I put it on a mod. And, the Snubnose RDA was polished, so I put it on a polished mod... the Wanko is brushed, and it went on a brushed mod...

But that's it...

Yes, I can hear you snickering. The RDA is named the Wanko. When using it I am not wa... ah, never mind...

The Wanko, though, is - naming aside - pretty durn cool. Pop-in "wave" coils that even @Katdarling would (almost) love. Squonk capable, and single coil buildable, too...

ETA: Whaddya know? Nothing got censored :)

ETA Part deuce: I don't change my oil myself, either. In my old truck, I don't have to... I pour the stuff in so fast, it never had a chance to get used up... I should start billing the roads department for oiling the streets for them...

Safe to say that there is no one way that vaping has to be done, and I'm sure glad that we have an abundance of choices.

I found what floats my boat years ago, and haven't made any effort to keep up with new trends.
Hell my stuff is so old that I have to check for barnacles! ;)

wonders how many times I've taken this same picture.
