I like to live on the edge. I have an Efest 2 bay charger. $10. Worked fine for a couple of months now.
But since I bought it online and not in a B&M it should be ok?

I think so. Not trying to knock B&M's but they mostly sell the cheaper Trust Fire or Sure Fire chargers. Personally anything with Fire in the name doesn't make me feel safe.

Anyone use a Foxnova charger? Saw buzzbox selling them. Im pretty sure the Flashlight group likes them. I use both Xstar and efest chargers. :)

I've never heard of that one.

So Efest chargers = good but Efest batteries = bad?

I've never had any problems with the Efest purples. They've been pretty good to me

Holy Mackerel I learned a lot of stuff here this morning! Important stuff too. So I have 2 ego style batteries and probably the cheapest charger known to man, plus I left one of the batteries on the charger overnight………thanks to you guys all of thats about to change.
On the more positive side I got this rinky dink set up yesterday afternoon and have been puffing on it on and off since I got it.
On my way to the Vape shop I rolled a cigarette and smoked 1/2 of it. This morning when I got up, saw the other half of the cig. on my desk, sat down with my coffee and felt a little tingle in my finger tips to reach for it, but reached for my new Aspire vape device instead.
From the time I walked out of that shop at 3 yesterday I have not had a single puff of my cig. I know I don't really need to tell you guys how freakin amazing that is but I want to anyway!!
And I didn't even really want to make this change, so this is without any strong drive or motivation or determination. Im moving to a place that has a non smoking policy
I was unsure of what strength to get the liquid in so I got an 18, 12, & 0 so I can dilute if need be. Using the 12 now
I do think I have some e-liquid kinks to iron out on my way to DIY. Getting the right tobacco flavor, and possibly all VG, or at least very high VG. Somethings causing me to sneeze quite a bit.
I may just leave that cigarette on my desk where I can see it, sort of like a litmus test as to whether or not I need to go up in my % of nicotine.

Glad to hear that you've passed a test for yourself! :thumb:
As far as learning things it never stops at least in my case it hasn't. You'll pick up things and tips to see what suites your style. One thing I've learned is to never be ashamed to ask anything no matter how simple you might think it is. Always better to be safe then sorry! :D

The ego charging issues may be a bit overstated. I have been using Ijoy Evod clone 650 mah batteries with very elcheapo chargers for 11 months and no worries so far. No batteries bad nor bad chargers either.
Need to order a couple of 2$ chargers as I am down to one ego charger, gave 2 away along with some batteries and Evod tanks to a friend yesterday.

OMG Andria I am so glad and thankful you told me that about batteries. I had read some stuff about the li-on batteries being dangerous and for some reason I got the impression they could be avoided but the guy at the vape shop told me everything he had had those batteries.
Im going to keep an eye on the charger and when its fully charged getting those suckers off. Cant I get some type of less dangerous battery?

Lion and Lipo are the only types of batteries that work for vaping, so no changing that. Built-ins are often Lipo, replaceable generally Lion.

But it's the same battery tech that's in all our laptops, phones, tablets...

The failure rate it really really small. Even on the "cheap" ego chargers. Just smart to take simple and basic safety precautions. As in not charging un-attended. And maybe charging in/on a place that won't burn, just in case :)

(I have a pair of large ceramic ashtrays that I stack, and charge on top of.)

Been using ego types for over 3 years (as well as replaceables), and haven't had any problems. I don't see it as a "worry", but more of an awareness that things can (although probably won't) go wrong.

From the time I walked out of that shop at 3 yesterday I have not had a single puff of my cig. I know I don't really need to tell you guys how freakin amazing that is but I want to anyway!!

I've never had any problems with the Efest purples. They've been pretty good to me

Have a few Efest purples as well, and no problems. It's my understanding (aka "it's been said") that they tend to inflate the discharge rate, but I have no proof of that. And since I'm primarily a tootle-puffer, they're still going to be well above my usage needs.

Hate to burst your bubble, but the Trustfire charger is a good charger.
AND, Trustfire batteries are great batteries ........... just not a good choice for vaping with what's available today.
I would point out tho' that in the days before safe chemistry, Trustfires' were the best batteries available.

Reminds me of me four years ago! I was such a die-hard smoker I didn't honestly think anything would every work to get me off the smokes after 43 years of them! I tried numerous things to quit, but was a bit halfhearted about it because, in my heart of hearts, I just didn't really want to quit smoking. I just felt I "ought" to quit.

But, because I get a kick out of electronic things, and wondered if the new "e-cigarettes" might be a possible solution for my "smoking problem"...I got a little kit online from a now defunct e-cig company. I just picked something that appealed to me...no ECF, no other forums, no friends with experience...just a shot in the dark. The day the kit was to arrive I was puffing away on my little Clipper cigar/cigarette (3 packs a day for me). Son brought in my package, and, while still puffing, I quickly read the instructions and assembled my "new toy", knocked the ash off the half smoked cig I had been smoking, and gave the new little e-cig a try.

I never looked back. I STILL have that half cigarette in what was left of the pack I was smoking, sitting on my microwave. From my first puff I never went back to smoking....but I kept that sad little half cig and it's buddies in the pack just because. As a reminder, I guess. I also took 7 new packs I had left from a carton I'd just gotten and put them in the freezer. They are still there. Surprised the heck out of me...not mention my family and friends!

VG makes me congested...I have to keep my levels of it low. Plus I don't care for how thick and sicky sweet it is. Tastes awful to me. I don't know what is causing your sneezing, but I doubt it is the PG...but I could be wrong. Could be something in the flavorings, too.

Congratulations on a good start on your new journey!

All batteries are dangerous, you just didn't know it till now. :D Just think about how much power they offer, even the plain ol alkaline batteries, and then imagine all that power escaping all at once. It's true that the small batteries we use, because of their chemistry, are a great deal more powerful than the alkaline batteries; they're somewhat closer to car batteries than camera batteries -- but any battery can explode; that's why they all have warnings about not disposing of them in fire, and dropping them can be dangerous too -- ANY battery.

For LiPo batteries (the kind in the sealed, USB-charge mods), I'd recommend the CoolFire4 over any of the iSticks, just because the CF4's have a lot of vent holes in the body of the mod. Always look for mods that have good venting -- so that if the battery goes haywire, it doesn't turn into a "pipe bomb" -- something that's emitting a large amount of gas in a sealed container is essentially a bomb, so you want plenty of venting for the container.

For external batteries, always choose IMR for vaping, NEVER ICR -- the IMR's are "safer chemistry" batteries. And never ever use a battery that has "fire" anywhere in its name. All of those seem destined to lead to that outcome.

    Andria

ETA: one further point... NEVER EVER EVER charge unattended!

I use efest batteries. Nothing wrong with them, if you don't try to get more amps out of them than they're capable of providing.

No bubbles busted. Just my preference of what I use and don't. If it works for you that's great.:thumb:
