Maybe a batch of bad or mis-marked coils? Do you have any way to measure them?

Sounds like it's not wicking well; is your juice high VG? If you could thin it down, OR, turn down the power on the mod, it might do better.

Thanks Andria, I'm not able to adjust the power because it's a simple (lowly?) ego one. The juice is a fairly high vg so I think I'll dump it, try (yet another) new coil and some different juice and give 'er a whirl.

Unfortunately I don't @DavidOck. I actually tried 2 different coils from 2 different packs with the same result. Dang it
And yes! - you're right about the sun over the yardarm somewhere! I like your positive outlook

100% VG here, plays very well with genesis style tanks and also with a orchid V5.

Somewhat surprisingly my boiled organic cotton ball wick has lasted close to 5 days now on my Orchid V5 (Tobeco).

Still has a good mellow taste, The SS430 coil is about 2 weeks old. I dry burn the coil to clean it every time I re-wick.

Well lookie there, I dumped the high VG juice, cleaned out the tank and refilled with a 50/50. I hope I'm not jinxing it by saying all seems right...long, slow pulls and so far no burnt taste.

Too early to do the Happy Dance?

Was not me either. However I am interested in the top fill thingy for the STM. It might become my first FT order.
I am really liking my STM with the 1.2 coil. Perfect draw for me and the vape is just warm not hot at all.
I actually ordered a 5 pack of coils for it. Go figure...
will likely never use the .5 ohm coil that came with it, but who knows? Never say never.
Might see me in a twerking Klowd comp someday?

You talking about the actual Kanger Top Fill Adapters? Heres some at the very bottom of the page.. I have never used one though.

if juice is to thick and not wicking fast enough then a couple of drops of water or a little more pg to thin it

but if scotch works also then why not hey

Any idea why my protank 2 coils keep burnin on my ego one? Put a new one in yesterday and 1/2 hour later...burnt. Tried another...burnt. If I take a short pull it's fine but a longer pull..burnt.

I've been absent for quite some time. So, hello again y'all!!!

You either need a higher resistance coil (probably) or a thinner juice if you are using above a 50/50 juice.

You need a 2 or 2.2 ohm coil. Factory Kanger 1.8's are bad to burn on an unreg battery.

I remember I used to use 3ohm on my mechanicals back in the day. Don't really recall the reason why...but it seemed to work out pretty good for me. I was using my (usual) 85PG/15VG mix, however. I'm not a fan of VG, and only use a little to pump up the vapor a little and add a touch of "smoothness" to my juice.
